Dr. Glenn Axelrod, MD

I had a ruptured right rotator cuff diagnosed in 2011. If I extended my right arm, such as reaching for the car radio, my arm would drop to my side with a sharp pain. They said the nerve under the clavicle was getting pinched. Dr. Axelrod advised what the surgery would be and cautioned that my recovery would depend upon my following strict, long term (6 mo.) healing and PT. Most post-surgical failures he attributed to the patient's aggressive use of the unhealed area. I took his advice, lifted virtually nothing for months, then followed his prescribed PT (no weights except for my arm's weight) performing simple exercises and then "writting abc's" on a big exercise ball placed against a wall for months. After about 9 - 10 months post surgery, we (he) elevated my PT and began using weights, etc. My surgery was performed Dec. 2011. Now in 2022, my shoulder strength remains 100% strong, absolutely NO limitations in my range of motion. 5 Stars! Changed my life! Thanks Dr. A, !

Dr. Axelrod replaced my left knee 10 years ago and it changed my life. Did a great job, was polite, did what was expected. Now I'm hoping he will do my right knee!

Replaced my left knee, I would not go to any other doctor. Dr. Axelrod is the best.

Dr. Axelrod has helped my knees, reducing pain and improving function. Office visits are very quick and efficient, and problems and options are clearly explained. I highly recommend him if you have knee problems.

Everyone at the office, including Dr. Axelrod, was kind and competent. We were in and out within a half hour.

I was in an accident and broke my ankle a little over 10 years ago - early 2011. I was 26 at the time. I was referred to SOS and was assigned to Dr. Axelrod, and I am quite happy about that looking back. During our appointments he seemed in a rush, but I don't recall ever waiting around too long - I think he kept to his schedule. I had to come in prepared with questions, and he always took the time to answer, but I did have to be on the ball. On the day of the surgery he was very reassuring before we went in and all the staff were very good, I felt comfortable and it went smoothly. After the surgery, my ankle healed quite well, but the pin did bother me, as Dr. Axelrod said may be the case due to the way my anke broke. I had a 2nd surgery to take the pin out, and 10 years later it's as if nothing ever happened. I have no pain or cramps or soreness even when I'm active. I am very grateful for how everything turned out, and grateful for having found Dr. Axelrod.

Totally incompetent. Misdiagnosed my shoulder and arm pain, left me in excruciating pain for months until I was properly diagnosed and treated by another doctor. Sent me to PT instead of properly evaluating what was wrong. Sent incorrect information to my new doctor (mixed up my left arm with my right). Does not listen and makes incorrect assumptions.

I felt rushed and didn't receive answers

Had no concern for the level of pain I was experiencing and did not listen to where I said my pain was coming from. Complete waste in this visit to him.

During a pandemic it’s a little scary to go anyplace but the office was immaculate, and plenty of space to social distance. It was efficient, fast, and exactly what I appreciated. I was in and out in such a short time it was amazing, my treatment was comfortable and seems to be working excellently. Could not be happier.

Listens to what I was staying and covered all my questions

Amazing place to go. Worth the drive. I would drive 12 hrs to go here over going to any Samaritan medical clinic. It is a 10 out of 5 star rating for me

My knee has bothered me for years and i had exhausted all treatment approaches. Dr. Axelrod spent the time with me to discuss knee joint replacement and all other options. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Axelrod is the best. He or staff were always available to answer questions. He did an excellent job on a knee replacement for me. Dr. Axelrod visited me in the hospital each day and was able to meet my needs with the recovery process. Very professional.

Dr Ax always takes time to see how I am doing overall and is genuinely concerned about my well being.

Recent total knee. I felt I had good care from Dr. A. He gave me clear information, answered questions and was very willing to accomodate any special requests/needs. He was *very* appropriately cautious about post op infection.
