Highly recommended to all
Dr Schorlemer is not only a great skilled surgeon, he is a brilliant medical investigator and problem solver. He never gives up on a patient. He spends time making sure you have the best chance at a long healthy happy life. He treats each patient like a most loved family member. I felt like I had the same care he would have given his mother or favorite aunt. I am alive today because of his care and skill . It’s been seven years since my quad bypass and my transplants are still open and amazing.

Outstanding cardiac surgeon
Dr. Schorlemmer performed a quadruple bypass on my husband 22 yrs ago, at St. Mark's Hospital. He did an outstanding surgery & it hasn't been until November 2022 that he needed a Stent in one of the arteries. My husband, Steven Fergus is now 87 yrs old and healthy. Dr. Schorlemmer was so wonderful & caring about my concerns and made what was a traumatic time for us, so much easier. I HIGHLY recommend him and only wish he was still in the SLC heart clinic now!!

Saved my Life!
Dr Schorlemmer performed a 6 bypass surgery on my heart 7 years ago. He also did work on my lungs and I was in ICU off and on for 4 months. Everything he did has been a great success. He actually saved my life and told me, I am a walking miracle. I love the guy and he had a fabulous bedside manner. He not only is a great doctor but also my friend.

When my husband almost died of an aneurysm, Dr. Schorlemmer repaired the artery and closed up his wrist so perfectly. He was kind and understanding with me, explaining things and the follow up was also very thorough. We will always be grateful to him and his staff. The first responders brought my husband to the ER at Timpanogos Hispital, so there was no urgent appointment. The hospital arranged everything, and we couldn't have had better care.

I entered he CV Surgery Unit by way of an ambulance ride and the ER. Dr. Schorlemmer and the ER staff evaluated my condition with a diagnosis that I would need multiple bypasses and the heart blockages I had were not stent candidates at all. Dr. Schorlemmer was open and patient in his communications with me and my wife, always engaged to any question we raised, and never left us wanting for clear understanding. I was treated as an individual, not simply a case. I had a sense of confidence in Dr. Schorlemmer and could tell that my perceptions were shared by the extended hospital staff who cared for me from the moment I arrived at the ER. Now after the 4 bypasses and a week later a repair to a descending aortic aneurysm, I have taken Dr. Schorlemmer's advice and guidance to have a pacemaker placed. I am genuinely thankful for everything Dr. Schorlemmer and the hospital staff has provided for me in giving me more future and can confidently recommend Dr. Schorlemmer as the only choice .

In 2016, I had open heart surgery to replace my leaky aortic valve and Dr Schorlemmer performed that surgery to perfection. I appreciate his and and his office staff's work and care for me. Because of Dr S's work and follow up care, I was able to successfully hike to Timp Cave 100 times a few weeks after my heart surgery from April to August. That hike is 3 miles round trip, 103 floors or the height of the Empire State Building. At the completion of my 100 hikes, local press interviewed both Dr. S and me and how I was able to complete my journey to the top through a history of no tobacco and alcohol, healthy diet, and regular exercise.

In an ever increasing practice of doctor's running you in and out as fast as they can, it has been an extreme pleasure teaming up with Dr Schorlemmer, and I use the word team purposefully. He treats me as though I were his own family, listening intently to my concerns and responding in great detail and taking as much time as I want to fully help me feel comfortable with all the options available. And, his technical competence feels unmatched.
