Dr. Gianmarco Vizzeri, MD

Dr. Vizzeri is the best! Always very patient and has time to answer any questions I may have. Did surgery on both eyes and I now can see clearly. Eye pressure is great and with the cataracts removed vision is great. I recommend him to anyone with concerns for glaucoma and or cataracts.

I just completed successful cataract surgeries on both eyes- I would recommend Dr. Vizzeri wholeheartedly! He explained my condition, recommended options and procedures with patience and understanding of my needs .I have never left his office without him asking if I had any questions that he could answer. Apart from being an excellent surgeon, he clearly takes an interest in his patients.

This is my favorite MD at the University of Texas Medical Branch. I can highly recommend Dr. Vizzeri for glaucoma and cataract issues. I have been a patient of Dr. Vizzeri for over ten years. He has brilliantly treated me for glaucoma over the years. About 8 years ago, he recommended and completed a mild laser treatment to lower my IOP pressure from mid-20s to 14-15 - and that low number has held for years. Dr. Vizzeri's skill has been meaningful in my life. I will likely have cataract surgery in the next few years and he will be my surgeon. I totally trust him. Dr Vizzeri did cataract surgery of both of my husbands eyes. He was very satisfied with Dr Vizzeri. I recently had cataract surgery on both of my eyes as well and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. Dr Vizzeri is very professional and explains everything in detail. He always has time for any questions or concerns you might have. I have never had to wait for my appointments as Dr Vizzeri is very prompt and on time. I would recommend Dr Vizzeri to anyone who wants good quality care and professionalism as well as a friendly and caring doctor and environment.

I have been seeing Dr Vizzeri for several years now and have found him to be such a wonderful doctor. He is soft spoken and gentle, always has a smile and is very patient and respectful of any questions I may ask. He will go over previously discussed matters without rushing through and I would be very unhappy if he ever decided to leave to work elsewhere. I trust him to take good care of my eyes. I just had cataract surgery in my left eye and everything went very smoothly. Dr. Vizzeri explained the procedure throughly before hand, so I felt comfortable and confident the day of the surgery and the care process after the surgery. I am a "mature" adult who needed cataract surgery in both eyes. Doctor Vizzeri was superb! He did a great job on my eyes, one of which turned out to be difficult. I can now see better than I've seen since high school. He always comes in to an appointment in an upbeat manner and after examining you asks if you have any further questions, which he takes time to answer. He is a skilled eye surgeon. I recommend him heartily

I honestly do not understand the negative reviews here. Are we seeing the same doctor? I've been seeing Dr. V for about 4 years now. He has been very patient with me when I ask questions or have concerns, I have never felt rushed during an appointment, I've had 2 operations to remove cataracts (both done by him) that went perfectly. I have severe anxiety issues but I am comfortable with him. He's very friendly and very easy-going. From my perspective and experience with him, he's the type of doctor that really, actually cares for his patients. You can tell. I think he's a great doctor and a cool dude and I recommend seeing him. *shrug*

Please do yourself a favor and see anyone but him. I felt harassed

Whoever says that he is a good doctor is lying. The UTMB reviews are fixed. How can all the reviews on UTMB be good? Go to Methodist or Memorial Herman. They have better doctors with better credentials.

they had to reschedule 3 times. When I saw him he was brief and not friendly.

Checked his background and not impressed. Found an Opthamologist who went to a better medical school.

Not impressed. Next time I will check to see where a specialist went to medical school. I will stick with a specialist who went to medical schools like Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Baylor, Stanford or the like.
