Dr. Pierantoni has been my PCP for many many years now and manages a few chronic conditions for me. I’ve never had a doctor that is so caring and compassionate. He’s friendly and welcoming and explains everything so thoroughly. He’s obviously incredibly knowledgeable in the field. He listens intently and truly approaches problems from all angles. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my care.

Best PCP Possible
I work at the same hospital as Dr. Pierantoni in another department and had seen multiple referrals come from him. They were always well vetted and conservative mgmt attempted before a surgical referral placed which is not always common. I decided to schedule with him and he exceeded my expectations! Carlo is kind, knowledgeable, thorough, and caring. He sees myself and my husband both. Across multiple significant medical issues this year he has remained constant and supportive. He is empathetic and open regarding mental health and made me feel valid in my concerns. He talks to you like you're a real person and he genuinely remembers you and takes time to review your chart and know your health history. Finding a good PCP is a difficult feat and I hope he stays in practice at VCU for a very long time.

You will never find a more caring compassionate knowledgeable dr than Dr Pierantoni. He is thorough. He is wicked smart. But his compassion is his greatest quality. He will take the time to look into every aspect of an issue to help you feel better. As someone with chronic issues, I am eternally grateful to have found this dr.

I went for a new patient set up. The doctor bombared me with questions concerning anything i was concerned about. stated the appointment was over without so much as listening to my heart or any of the "normal" first time patient things. He then billed me 6 months after the appointment for a sick visit through insurance instead of a new patient which would have been included under my insurance. I will never visit this office again. Something was definitely fishy and out of line with the whole experience

I find Dr. Pierantoni to be a caring PCP and someone who listens while also wanting me to understand his assessment and recommendations for care. Our whole family uses him as our PCP and have done so since moving to Richmond in 2015. I highly recommend him!

Unfortunately Dr Law left the practice so I tried to get an appointment with Dr Pierantoni. I called for an appointment and an extremely rude woman told me I couldn't come see him because I had seen Dr Law 11 months ago. After several refusals to give me an appointment I said I guess I needed to find another doctor and she said: "yes, go ahead, good bye!" Maybe the Dr is great but his staff is of utmost importance. If staff is so unhappy something must be the matter...

It took two wks to see the Dr. Morning of appt, gps routes me to Maryland Ave in Richmond, instead of Mayland Ct in Henrico. I attempt to call the office 3-4 time from 7a until 7:15, no one answers. I arrive @ 7:20, the "beefy" woman behind the counter says he can't see me, and suggests I wait to see if the 7:30 shows up. At 7:40, in an empty lobby, I am told the Dr still can't see me, and I can sit by the phn at home, and wait for a cancellation. I could go on, but I am out of characters.

with a recent move to Richmond VA, we changed to this physician and 4 out of 4 family members have been seen to establish patient care. We are very happy with his thoroughness in initial exam, and willingness to expedite a sports physical for our teenager. professional staff and nurse. feel we got lucky in choosing Dr. Pierantoni with no former recommendations or referrals.

Dr. Pierantoni treats you like you're his only patient that day. He likes to try non-pharm routes, so if you're looking for drugs, he might try to give you another option, but will still hear out your concerns. I would recommend him to anyone. He is also very responsive to the messaging system that VCU health uses, I always hear back from him same day. EXCELLENT doctor!

He treated me like a criminal. He has many good qualities, and he has some not so great qualities. Legitimate chronic pain patients are being treated like criminals in today's environment. The suicide rate of patients having been mistreated this way is climbing. Dr. Pierantoni is one such doctor that will treat you like a criminal if you should ever require pain medicine from him. He made me feel like my life was worthless.
