Dr. Ghary Gappelberg, MD

My father has been in dire need of surgery on his back and other ones he is in his 70s, has been trying to get help with these forever, and has failed to get him any of the help he has been seeking, and just said you've been a difficult patient and prescribed him anti depressants and weight loss.My father needs surgery and actual help, this guy has checked out and couldn't care less about fixing his patients chronic issues....

Find another doctor. When I told him I was depressed he said buy a sports car. When I complained of right elbow soreness he said be a lefty. Finally I went there with a foot swollen like a balloon and could barely walk. He gave me gout meds. No X-rays no blood draw. Didn’t even touch the foot. Wouldn’t give me steroids. Said they were too dangerous. So I was in pain for weeks. Could barely walk. Finally saw a real doctor…rheumatologist. Took X-ray and full blood work. Put me on steroids for 3 months…apologized to me for being in pain. Diagnosed me with reactive arthritis. Bottom line get a different doctor.

I have been treating with Dr. Ghappelberg for many years and am very satisfied and pleased with him and Woburn Medical. His assistant, Nicole does a great job. When I arrive at the facility, I seldom wait more than several mInutes to be seen. My phone calls are generally returned in an expedient manner and queries on the patient portal are usually responded to the same day.

I would love to give Dr Gappelberg 5 stars but he gets 4 stars because of his assistant Nichole. She is the rudest person to deal with and always seems bothered when you call. Every time you call be prepared, you will ALWAYS get the voicemail and no call back. You have to call back several times because when they say they are going to do something it never happens. You have to stay on top of them for everything which is awful, especially if you're waiting on a specific medication. The lack of care is disturbing. Its too bad because Dr Gappelberg is a great Dr but his team is bringing him down.

I have been going to Dr G for years he takes all the time you need to listen to your concerns about your health and never rushes you,he is very thorough in examining you and makes sure you understand everything you discussed on your visit and truly cares about your health and well being I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a primary care provider. Dr. Gappelberg has been my primary care physician for 6 years and he has been wonderful. He is more than just a physician, he is also equal parts therapist and friend. He is around my same age as well so he is very relatable and nice to have a male doctor whom you can be frank with. Highly recommend him.

Dr. Gappelberg is arrogant and very tough to deal with. His staff is tough as well. I was recently given an attitude by his receptionist and then hung up on. I'll never go back
