I'd leave ZERO stars if possible. He is rude & incompetent. I was scheduled to have a partial gastrectomy for polyp removal after previously undergoing several upper endoscopies only to have them regrow. I weighed about 310 lbs & if the surgery caused me to lose weight so be it, but that was not the reason for my having the procedure. He blatantly informed me that he was just going to remove the lowest section where the polyps were because he'd lose money if he removed more of the stomach & he wasn't being paid for weight loss surgery. I was STUNNED at his declaration. He was only concerned with money, & not the patient. I had the surgery performed & was to have a 2-day hospital stay but ended up staying 4 days due to extremely painful vomiting. I slept in an uncomfortable recliner the entire stay because trying to get in bed was excruciating. He never came to see me, a Dr. White did once. Polyps grew back at his incision & due to his greed I just underwent another upper endoscopy.

I went to ER with severe pain and diagnosed with gallbladder stones. Dr. C performed the surgery the next day. He sat down in a chair in my hospital room , discussed the procedure and answered questions. The surgery was a breeze. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you, Dr. Carcamo.

The best surgeon hands down. He has performed 4 surgeries on me. Each one was done with expert care, minimal pain. He knows what he is doing. I found him friendly, straight forward and easy to talk too. Even more, I don’t pay a surgeon to chat or be my friend. I want the best technician. He is it!!!

I"ll agree with others who say he is rude and his staff is incompetent, but that is not why I rate him 1 star. I had my lap band 3 years ago and I've lost a total of 12 pounds (still not the reason). He and his staff work through patients like a cattle call...no personal attention whatsoever. The day of my surgery, he made me wait over 4 hours (I was his first surgery of the day) because he overslept. The staff at the hospital had to call him repeatedly to wake him up and remind him I was there.

I saw dr Carcamo first time Dec 2015 and scheduled my lap band 2 weeks later. I am a year out and have lost 75 lbs. Dr . Carcamo is very straight forward which I is feel is need with over weight patients. This straight forwardness comes out rude to some for me it was reality of the situation. He doesnt sugar coat and make you think every thing is rainbows and butterflies. I have enjoyed my experience with him even when he told me what i didnt want to hear. Even knew when i was cheating the progr

I am about to get the lap band done in two weeks. I have been seeing Dr. Carcamo for about 4 months now. He knows what he is talking about but he is very rude and his office staff, although very nice and professional, are disasters with returning calls and scheduling appointments.

He is a very weight loss surgeon! For those who said he is rude are in denial! I had my surgery in 2009. Ok, he is busy at times. Sometimes it takes awhile till he can see you at the appointment time. Waiting 90 minutes is crazy and not true! My insurance with Tricare Prime took care of most of the costs! Unfortantly last year Tricare no longer pays for my visits anymore. It was $25 visit each time only. He also performs other surgery too if needed which he did for me.

I'd discourage new patients from seeing Dr. Carcamo. I waited 90 min. before he saw me.They don't validate parking either. My greatest concern is his rude demeanor. I went in to inquire about a surgery. He said he couldn't help &You are fat &have a lot of fat cells, it's probably genetic He claimed surgery was only temporary & I need to go on a food plan consisting of only meat & vegetables. Doesn't he understand we come bec. all attempts to diet failed us?His words were thoughtless&hurtful
