My child unfortunately sees way to many doctors. I have never had to write a bad review. But this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. We waited an hour and a half before Dr. Sisson was in the room. He spent a total of 3 or 4 minutes with my child and offered us no help or advice. Two months later we are having to go to another Ortho because Dr. Sisson did not see what was already wrong with my child. He was not compassionate when we asked questions and even came across as rude during the visit. I hope this review helps others, especially those who spend to much time in hospitals and doctor offices. Absolutely will not go back.

Best Doctor! He Saved Me
I wouldn’t have the ability to walk without Dr. Sisson. I had two severely injured legs and multiple doctors told me I wouldn’t walk again. My first appointment he promised me I’d walk again w/o assistance and within six months I was walking as if I’d never been injured. He also has wonderful bedside manner. Don’t rely on bad reviews. See for yourself. I highly doubt you’ll regret it.

Just saw him yesterday after I fractured my ankle a couple weeks ago. He was patient, caring and not at all abrupt like the others have mentioned. I'm not discounting anyone else's experiences and think a lot of it may depend on how busy he is, but the day I saw him, 1/25/22, he was thoughtful and showed an intelligent approach towards the treatment of my swollen ankle. The nurse had told me a lot of people cancelled that day because of the weather, because it was cold. Surgery was scheduled for this Monday and then I get a cast on it, I can't wait to get this over with! In general I've had good experiences with the doctors at NW and found them to be capable, courteous, and knowledgeable with good communication skills regardless of what country they're from. Everybody here works as a team there and puts care and compassion above all else.

Does not listen to patient at all. Prescribed physical therapy for an injury sustained during physical therapy. Refused to answer questions about research I had done. Does not like patients who understand medical literature and can question his authority.

It is hard to believe that Sisson is still practicing; he is awful. I came to him suffering from Morton's Neuroma. He does not explain options, what to expect after excision surgery. He excised two neuromas on one toe leaving it numb for years; this surgery was in 2002 and I still feel the after effects of his poor surgical skills. At the time it occurred I was on the operating table and he gave me the option right then and there to remove both neuromas, saying - might as well get rid of both of them. Never said that two totally numb toes would be the result. He never followed up, never explained pain management, etc. I later went to Rush and saw a doctor who was incredulous that he excised two neuromas in one foot. Sisson should have stopped practicing years ago.

There's no option here for zero stars so he gets one by default. Not only does he lack any courtesy, he did an unnecessary and very painful procedure. Sadly, I found out after the fact. He did not have my best interests at heart or explain the surgery, etc. He never even contacted me after the surgery. I saw him post surgery -- 6 weeks later at my THIRD post op visit. Unbelievable. Very surprising that a great hospital like NMH would have this doctor on staff. Do not go to this guy.

I was referred to him for neuromas and he said I should have bunion surgery. After he assured me that I'd only have one cast and one month on a crutch, I ended up with the most PAINFUL surgery of my life, NO meds, and he didn't answer his page. I ended up with a with a shortened 2nd toe, CRPS, and can not walk. Have been bed- ridden for almost 7 yrs thanks to him. Went thru Physical therapy, nerve blocks, 20 doctors, seizures, complete hell. He needs to lose his license. I cry every day

Dr. Sisson performed surgery on Morton's neuroma on both feet at same time and did two excisions on right foot which left two toes numb. When pain returned I went to a doctor at Rush who could not believe that Sisson did that. He is really bad.

I was hit by a car while riding my bicycle. I had a very, very complicated fracture. Dr. Sissone was the attending surgeon in the emergency operating room. I feel like I have been in very good hands. I had to be in the hospital for six days, and he visited every single day. One day he did not arrive till after nine at night because he was so busy, and he aplogized. I feel very grateful to have met him, and is one of the bright spots in a very difficult time for me.

My experience with this Dr AWFUL! He has a way of making you feel like you are wasting his time. I went to see him because I been having foot pain. On my last visit he was so rude. This man has no compassion at all. He asked me if I had a boot to stabilize my foot - told him yes but Velcro worn out. He told me to tape it - yes he did say tape it! Said a new one would be waste of money. He doesn't remember what he's told you on previous visits. He was no help. My advice to you find different Dr!

He was almost caustic, and discourteous. He behaved as though I was a waste of his precious time. I was barely able to walk , and stated my foot was affecting my gait so much I was having knee pain, hip pain and back pain. His response was that happens in a tone so lacking in interest and care that I determined it was not worth my while to come back and see him in a few years when the injury has deteriorated enough to have surgery.

Absolutely no bedside manner. Indifferent. Took a long time to diagnose problem. Not helpful in discussing ways to deal with the problem. Learned more online.
