Renewed my faith in doctors
Dr. Doner is the most personable doctor I have dealt with in years. He listened to me, making actual eye contact and not rushing through the convo like he had somewhere else to be. FWIW: I had been in constant and increasing shoulder pain for more than a year. It had gotten so bad that I had a terrible time sleeping and had to stop swimming completely because I simply couldn’t move my left arm. I had tried PT and that actually made it worse. I felt like no one knew what was going on and I was starting to wonder if it could even be fixed. Dr. Doner was thorough and recommended all the options from least to most invasive. I picked the least (cort shot) to start. NGL, that was really painful. He was upfront about how long it might take to work. Within 24 hours, there was noticeable (~80%) improvement and within 3 days, it was as if it never happened. I have now been swimming 8-10K yards a week for the last 3 months with absolutely zero issues. Thank you for giving me my life back, Dr. D!

Hip on the Mend
I started having hip pinching in February which eventually became quite painful by September despite PT. I initially dismissed surgery after meeting with Dr. Donor’s PA but eventually made the decision to do it a few months later and am glad I chose the labrum repair. Six months later it’s healing well and full recovery is not far away thanks to Dr. Doner, a skilled and personable surgeon.

Awesome care!
Dr Donor took great care in repairing my shoulder (torn labrum, bicep and lots of bursitis) He explained everything to my husband following the surgery and made sure I had appropriate pain medications so I could heal. He followed up by personally calling me the next day and all follow up care with Mitch and Dr Donor was awesome! Highly recommend him.

Dr Donor's oldest patient labial hip repair.
Great experience. After 5 plus years of excessive joint pain in my right hip, Dr. Donor's labial hip repair now allows me to exercise and sleep better. I was 78 at the time of the surgery. Recommend Dr. Donor and his staff highly.

Best hip surgeon in CO!
I am a collegiate tennis player and I tore my labrum in my left hip in April 2024. Doctor Doner repaired my labrum in July. With 6 months of rehabilitation I am now fully cleared to play my spring season this year! I had no issues whatsoever throughout the healing process. I am fully back at competing again and I feel better than I was prior to my injury. Doctor Doner is amazing and I would 100% recommend him! Thank you Doctor Doner!

Best Bedside Manner!
Right from the first meeting with Dr. Doner I knew I had found the right person for the job! Most orthopedic surgeons seem aloof and impersonal but Dr. Doner immediately made me feel like he really cared about me as a person and not just another payday. He explained the procedure well and explained the results when he was done in a way that I could understand. I had great confidence heading into surgery and it turned out fantastic…if I have to have my other hip repaired I will definitely choose him again!

Highly Recommend!
I was referred to Dr Doner for a possible labral tear in my right hip after a couple months of Physical Therapy didn’t resolve my pain. An MRI revealed a tear and I was able to schedule a surgery surprisingly soon after the MRI followup! Dr Doner was awesome, before my surgery he checked in with me and chatting about football in Pre-op, he checked in with me after I woke up and called a few days later too! My recovery was great. I’m a baby about all things medical but I was given great at home care instructions, all my questions were answered at my follow up appointments and the staff was super friendly at every visit. After 6 months I’m feeling great, my hip survived 3 days at Disneyland pain free and I’m back to my normal gym routine. I’m happy I opted for the surgery and looking forward to lots of fun in the sun with no more hip pain! :)

Dr. Doner is amazing!
I was referred to Dr. Doner after two years of seeing other orthopedics who told me I just needed physical therapy. I was unable to work and in an incredible amount of pain. I had a torn bicep and labrum in my shoulder. I’m 3 months out from surgery and I feel amazing! Dr. Doner is incredible! His bedside manner is great and I will never go anywhere else! Highly recommend!

Outstanding Care and Office Staff
I had surgery to repair a torn hip labrum! Could not be more pleased with the care and attention from the first visit. Staff from the front desk to surgery to after surgical care has been top notch. Office visits always on time and I really felt cared for and heard. I am a runner and active person so returning to activity was important to me. I feel great and surgery was a breeze. Almost 6 months post surgery and I could not be happier with my decision to have the surgery and under Dr. Doner's care. Dr.Doner is kind, thorough, very attentive and a great listener. I highly recommend Dr. Doner and his staff for any hip issues.

Full range of motion & 99% of strength back in 7 m
I highly recommend Dr Doner. I'm 54 and my surgery was at the end of February. I had to have my bicep tendon cut and moved over. I also needed a fix to a partial tear in my supraspinatus tendon. I had no problems post surgery. I'm 7 months out and I have full range of motion back. I am about 99% of the way to regaining my full strength. I have my arm back! Thank you Dr Doner! And if you go to PT at the same facility ask for Shannon. She's the best PT I've ever had.

A skilled surgeon and nice guy.
Along with the normal wear and tear of 61 active years on this planet, and with decades of being an “overhead athlete” (rock and ice climbing, plus, literally tens of millions of swimming yards), I have a lot of hard miles on my body. When I needed rotator cuff surgery on my LEFT shoulder, my cousin, who is a surgery recovery nurse at a local hospital, recommended Dr. Geoffrey Doner at Colorado Center of Orthopaedic Excellence (CCOE). Dr. Doner’s team is top notch. The surgery, using some of the newest techniques, went extremely well. Now a year later (shoulder tendons heal and rehab slowly), I’m back to swimming, climbing, lifting weights, and mountain biking while once again enjoying my active Colorado lifestyle. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Geoffrey Doner for shoulder surgery. In fact, in a few years when I most likely will also need rotator cuff surgery on my RIGHT shoulder (remember all those hard miles/yards?), I’ll be returning to Dr. Doner and his team at CCOE.

I had hip pain for over 4 years. An MRI showed a torn labrum. After visiting 3 other orthopedic doctors, I was referred to Dr. Geoffrey Doner. After 4+ years of pain and failures of another doctor to correctly diagnose and treat my condition, I had A LOT of questions. Dr. Doner was patient, compassionate and answered all my questions. He performed a labral repair, femoroplasty, trochanteric bursectomy, IT band lengthening and capsular closure. Dr. Doner explained I would have a 6-month recovery. However, I felt better within days. My recovery was about 3 months. I am 6 months post-op and finally pain free! As for office environment and scheduling, I won’t comment as Dr. Doner was previously with Centura and now is with CCOE. Dr. Doner is a skilled surgeon, personable and I highly recommend him!
