Highly Recommend Dr. Cox and His Staff
I have been a patient of Dr. Cox for many years. Getting an appointment to see him for anything, other than a physical, is usually possible on either the same or next day. As are most doctors, he is booked ahead by several months to schedule a physical. I have always been impressed by how willing Dr. Cox is to discuss issues with me, as well as how knowledgeable he is about current medical practice. I have never felt rushed when I have an appointment with him. As far as his staff, I have had nothing but good contacts with them over the years. I think that during Covid, they may have had a turnover in his office staff, and that has resulted in not everyone knowing exactly what they should be doing, but I have never felt like they were in the least bit rude, as someone else mentioned. His nurses give the best shots I have ever gotten anywhere. I literally don't feel anything when receiving a shot by them. I have also been very impressed by the other doctors in his office.

Wonderful family practice. Dr. Cox and associates are warm and friendly with patients and their families. After 15 years experience with this practice we feel fortunate to work with doctors and staff who know us, know are family, and who make every effort to ensure our health issues are addressed with knowledge and compassion.

While Dr. Cox personally is fine, his office staff are anything but. They are rude and disrespectful and make it very difficult to schedule an appointment with Dr. Cox. He is unavailable for months on end which is not what you want from a physician. I'll be finding an alternate provider.

Dr Cox has been our families PCP for a little over 5 years (which is how long we've lived in Austin). He is an awesome doctor with an incredible "bed side manner." He treats my wife, my three adult children as well as my brother and sister-in law and we couldn't be happier. He takes a very holistic approach and he's not rushing when you see him. If I had one complaint it would be wait time for appointments; however, I see this as a natural side effect of him not rushing patients through.

Beware of this doctor! Your experience will be a nightmare. You will be met by rude, hateful office staff, then wait in the waiting room for more than an hour (check out all the other reviews that also complain about the extremely long wait), and then after your long wait you will find that Dr. Cox does NOT care about you, just your money. Dr. Cox is very untrustworthy! Then you will get a bill for fraudulent, erroneous charges, and will have to waste even more of your time.

Dr. Cox is great but unfortunately the back office at South Oaks is so terrible I will not go back. Mis-billings, rudeness, and overall incompetence. They had the nerve to tell me they only bill once a year but said they had sent me 5 invoices for an appointment I never had. Throw it to collections because I will never pay. Sorry Dr. Cox. Let me know when you join a better office.

Our entire family sees Dr. Geoffrey Cox at South Oaks Family Medicine (SOFM). We first started seeing him when we moved to Austin in 2003, and even though we now live on the other side of Austin, we continue to use this practice and Dr. Cox. We have never had such an attentive, thorough, and personable family physician, and we can't imagine going anywhere else.  Dr. Cox's staff is always able to work us in for a same day appointment, generally with him, but if not, with another doctor or nurse
