Dr. Gene Tekmyster, DO

After a botched cortisol epidural shot in Pasadena that nearly killed with excruciating pain. Dr. Chang of USC KECK referred me for a shot with Dr Tekmyster. OMG, the procedure took only a few minutes and I didn’t feel a thing ! I was walking in 3 days and completely back to normal in 10 days.Dr. Tekmyster even called me twice to see how I was recovering !Thank you, thank you Dr Tekmyster! You ARE THE G.O.A.T. I am forever grateful for your skill and caring attitude !

We spoke for 20 minutes and he was constantly yawning and looking at his watch! I felt rushed to finish explaining my symptoms and asking questions. Very rude and unprofessional!

I had two procedures done by Dr. Tekmyster, and I totally trust him and his staff at USC. They are very professionals. Dr. Tekmyster is knowledgeable and has very good side manners. I would recommend him and his staff. Thank you Dr. Tekmyster.

My physical therapist recommended Dr. Tekmeyster and he has been great. He recommended an ablation. Even though my insurance tried VERY HARD not to approve it, in th me end they did. Luckily, Dr. T worked the week after Christmas and I had the procedure. It is amazing that I no longer have pain.He told me he did 4 ablations that day and everyone is pain free. Amazing.He is knowledgeable, kind, patient and empathetic. I know he is well skilled- the Intracept ablation is a new technique and he is very successful in eliminating pain.I can only recommend that if there Ali’s back pain, he is the only one to see. Imagine YEARS of pain…. GONE. Thanks Dr. T!!

I didn't like the whole feeling. The medical student was very nice. The doctor was pushy and hurting me, didn't wait to I even was on the daggone table that was way to high for me, till Med Student retrieved a step stool. I wasn't there for a spinal review which he should have known cos I already received from a Keck nuero one, and he didn't tell me anything honestly I already didn't know from Google Docs, seriously. I went to get a second opinion on pain care, which he denoted everything and told me to try a shrink. Lol guy was tripping. Guess what I already have one and he can't believe the insanity of these doctors. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have made it thru the horrific 3 years after a botched nasty surgery. I am taking my advice from my PM I have. I think this place is for rich folks of non color. Wasn't one in there but me.

I went to the doctor for a shoulder issue that was bugging me for a long time. He decided to do an x-ray and found the previous injuries I sustained. He said I could get an MRI and that would cost about $500 out of pocket max. One MRI and a $3,500 bill later, I am at a loss. I was misled and overbilled the entire way.

This guy! What a snake! I was referred to him for a procedure that is dangerous and I wanted no part in, but before I could address my own concerns, he did it for me...great! Then, we spoke at length about my issues and he agreed with me that the ONLY remedy based on my very recent MRIs and symptoms would be surgery. I agreed. Then I spoke with my surgeons office who told me that they spoke with him and the dangerous procedure is a "go". Ummm, no sir! So, trying to generate some payments? Needs a subject for his students? I don't know his reasons, nor his reasons for NOT calling me to clarify any changes to his recommendations, but I went from liking him in our consult, to not trusting one word or "medical" opinion he might have! Although this guy was polite and seemed reasonable and somewhat knowledgeable on our consult, apparently he isn't and has some sort of agenda. My two cents: steer clear!

I saw Dr. Tekmyster for a consultation regarding low back pain. Very professional and skilled at assessing patients.

After getting an epidural last year, I returned with pain and Dr. Tekmyster told me there was no reason I should be in pain and suggested I go to therapy. He was rude, dismissive, and didn't even say goodbye when he left. He was in the room for less than ten minutes. After my visit, I immediately saw another doctor because I knew something was wrong, and sure enough, I had two additional herniations in my lower lumbar spine. If Dr. Tekmyster had listened to me or bothered to even do an updated MRI, he would've seen this for himself instead of just brushing me off. I do not recommend him at all, but I'm glad he acted the way he did so I could get proper help.

I work in the healthcare industry and I know, well almost all the time I know when a doctor hasn’t read my medical reason why I am in his office. Very professional and bedside manners wow… thank you everyone!

I don’t know how he has good reviews. He missed a spinal fracture and I went to see an actual spine surgeon. Not a want to be surgeon and they found my problem. He is nice to make up for his lack of knowledge and skill. Beware. Get a second opinion

I have been under Dr. Tekmyster's care for the past year and found him to be very knowledgeable and caring. His approach to personal health is outstanding and would highly recommend him to anyone suffering with back and hip pain as I have. He is always available and takes the time to fully understand the concerns and needs of (this) patient. He is the best!

Had a nerve connectivity test. The Doctor was very clear about the test and personable in general conversation. Great "bedside" manner!

I was fortunate to meet with Doctor Tekmyster. He is the consummate professional - knowledgeable and attentive. He really helped me and I am truly appreciative. I have already recommended Dr. Tekmyster to my son-in-law who is currently suffering with the same affliction.

Hardly ever touched me, wouldn't listen or cared that I was in pain for 2 years straight.
