Irresponsible and Unresponsive
This DO and his office have been repeatedly negligent with the care of my mother. It took 4-5 weeks and at least that many phone calls to get him and his office to send correctly completed paperwork required to received medical equipment he prescribed, delaying her treatment 2 months. He and his staff were also negligent in responding to repeated attempts for a referral for an MRI when my mother discovered a lump in her breast after a double mastectomy. He and his staff are worthless; they clearly do not care about the well being of his patients. I will be reporting him to the MO Board for disciplinary action. This guy sucks!

The things I like
Going to the doctor at 83 for a troubling symptom can be very stressful. Dr. Vicker’s approach is one of the things I like about him. His personality isn’t that of a stuffy practitioner but rather like an old friend. He listens, is very knowledgeable, and explains the issue at hand in a manner that I can understand without causing unnecessary concern. When I leave his office I understand what the problem is and what, if any, action I need to take.

A Great Doctor Who Cares
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Vickers for several years. He always takes time and explains everything in clear layman’s terms. Also doesn’t hurt that he is friendly and has an incredible sense of humor. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great Doc without the slightest reservations. In my opinion, he’s the best!

Antiquated male mindset.
Quick to write prescriptions! I wish he was that quick to actually listen to his patients. I was dismissed a number of times because my weight is not ideal. He started and ended every appointment talking about my weight. If I voiced a health concern it always was because of my weight. headaches complaint his response was weight, Insomnia complaint his response was weight, back pain (that i had since 15) his response was weight. He did not even ask how long I had the back pain. I came into an appointment after losing 20lbs his comment before I left was "Don't gain it back" Everything to him is because of your weight. As a patient I want a doctor that listens, Vickers is not it.

He’s fantastic!
Dr. Vickers has been my GP for over a decade. With my diagnosed rare medical condition and PTSD, I am not an easy patient. Dr. Vickers has been one of the few docs who I actually look forward to seeing. I am completely at ease with him. He listens well and does not sugarcoat. HE takes his time. He is a character and an empath, a warm, sweet, caring, and humble man. I am so happy to have him as my doctor.

I have been going to Dr. Vickers for years. I even hunted him down when he left SSM. He is very personable, understanding, caring and will be straight forward with you. He listens to you and is always there to help, whether it's giving a call or sending a message on the portal. I recommend him to everyone I know. I'm glad I found him again.

Dr. Vickers doesn't rush you and takes the time to listen, which of course is very important in order to make a proper diagnosis. He takes time to explain things to you and entertain any questions that you have. He's also very friendly and makes you feel comfortable. He also messaged me via the portal right away regarding any test results. It was my first visit, and it was overall a great experience.

Would not recommend. Had mixed experiences. Gave some good general practice advice. However, he was not very sympathetic towards you as the patient. Pretty quick to write prescriptions. I always felt that the practice must be getting a cut.

Best doctor I have ever had. Dr. Vickers has been treating me for over fifteen years. I feel like I have lost a lifelong friend - How can you possibly replace someone who know your history - his replacement doctor is average at best. - Looking for a new primary - if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Horrible, I had to see him because my doctor is out of town and I have bronchitis that will not go away. I told him how my usual doctor has been treating it, antibiotics and using a nebulizer. All of the information Dr. Vickers gave me was completely inaccurate and honestly could be very detrimental to someones health if they actually listened to him. None of it matched with what doctor had ever reccomended, and he told me it was only allergies and that I should stop using my nebulizer and only use my inhaler, even though the nebulizer has been the only thing to help. He did not listen to me whatsoever, disregarded any of my symptoms or concerns, gave me false information, and it was overall a complete waste of time. I don't reccomend that anyone sees him.

I’ve seen Dr V for the better part of 20 years . I can say that on 2 occasions he has probably saved my life . Though direct, he can really put himself in the patient’s place and hurt when you hurt . If you need results I would highly recommend him. If you want to be stroked, he might or might be the doctor for you , Highly recommended for the executive, results oriented patient

Dr. Vickers can be flippant at times. He has said a few inappropriate remarks to me, but I’ve chosen to ignore them. I have decided to find another doctor who shows a bit more compassion and understanding.
