Born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley.  Graduated from Baylor School of Dentistry and Baylor School of Medicine in Dallas.  Completed Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.  Became  board certified  by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons in 1988.
