Does not listen to his patients
Had a post-op complication and when I addressed it with Dr. Grinberg he was dismissive and stated I should go to my PCP. No help at all. Cookie cutter patient care. Would not recommend, regret having my procedure done by this doctor.

Amazing Surgeon
I have read other reviews insisting that Dr. Grinberg is short and not informative. I did not interpret his attitude that way. He does not spend time empathizing with you more than getting straight to the facts and assessing your condition. He and the Bariatric team collectively did An amazing job at preparing me for my recent GB surgery. His incisions were clean and I healed externally within a week. I had no pain at any point post-surgery and if you ask questions during consultations, he will answer them. If you’re looking for a more personal relationship with a busy surgeon you may have unrealistic expectations, that is what hospital resources and support groups are for. As a surgeon, he is undoubtedly amazing.

I had gastric bypass surgery with Dr. Grinberg. He was not overly friendly on our first meeting, but warmed up on subsequent meetings. Surgery went great and recovery was overall smooth! No real pain to speak of, only 5 little incisions that healed wonderfully, and good overall results. He always made sure to ask if I had any more questions and took time to amswer them sufficiently. I have no hesitation recommending Dr. Grinberg to bariatric patients, and no regrets from having my surgery!

I had a horrible experience with this doctor when trying to set up my bariatric surgery. When discussing the pain medications I take for my heriditary spinal disease I've had since childhood, he lectured me on the American opioids epidemic, insisted I had a low pain threshold, and basically treated me like a drug addict. I had to keep telling him I hadn't taken my pain meds for several months. He was too busy being right to focus on ME. There is no way I'm letting that walking ego cut into me.

My experience with Dr. Grinberg was very harsh. I would not want him to speak with a family member or friend who suffers with issues of morbid obesity. He was very curt and blunt when delivering his phone assessment. He spoke as if he really doesn't have a clue about the subject past his surgical knowledge.
