Dr. Gabriel Gambardella, DPM

He performed my emergency ankle surgery in December. I feel he has a very good bedside manner and my ankle seems to be healing properly.

I was referred to Dr. Gambardella for a surgical consult to address significant foot pain due to osteoarthritis and bone spurs. He was thorough in his examination of my foot, answered my many questions, and was honest about what I could expect if I had the surgery - improvement in my pain level and a need to be realistic about what the surgery and recovery phase would entail. He inspired confidence in pursuing the surgery by his direct and honest approach. I am 15 months out from surgery and the improvement in my activity level and quality of life is significant. My recovery has been successful because I followed his advice and took no shortcuts during my recovery. The care I received from Dr. Gambardella was excellent. Whenever I have an opportunity to recommend him to others, I do so because of his commitment to his patients, his positive attitude, his patience with his patients, and the good spirit and humor with which he practices medicine. I will forever be grateful to him.

Dr. Gambardella is my favorite doctor I have. He is great with patients, genuinely cares and goes out of his way to ensure his patients are taken care of. I highly recommend him!!!

Dr Gambardella is VERY thorough and very attentive. I've had multiple surgeries and everyone he was available to answer ANY and ALL concerns. I VERY highly recommend him. His Practice staff is friendly and accommodating as well.

I've seen dozens and dozens of doctors over the years for various medical reasons. Only a handful were caring, willing to help me, wouldn't give up on me, and very knowledgeable. Dr. Gambardella is one of these doctors x1000. He clearly loves his job and cares so much about his patients. There were a few times I had questions pre- and post-surgery, after hours or on the weekend, and he responded to me within minutes. He took the time to diagnose and treat an issue that other doctors dismissed. Before seeing him I already tried everything and nothing worked, so he suggested surgery, but wanted me to get a 2nd opinion from another great doctor first. So he definitely didn't rush into surgery, like many surgeons I believe do. He knew about my condition and linked it to my specific type of pain, even though it's fairly rare and other doctors didn't know about it. I really enjoy every visit with him--I wish some of my other doctors were like him and I wish I could give him 10+ stars!

Dr. Gambardella is my Mom’s pediatrist and he has been exceptional to work with. My Mom is 84 and has type 2 diabetes. She recently had an infection in the bone of her foot and after trying strong antibiotics that didn’t get rid of the infection, she needed to have her big toe removed. It was very emotional for her to get this surgery but Dr. G was excellent at diagnosing the problem and coming up with the treatment plan. Additionally, he was patient, kind and compassionate. I live out of state and wasn’t in CT for her surgery but Dr. G called me immediately after her surgery to let me know that the surgery went perfectly. He explained things clearly, answered my questions and stated what her treatment would be going forward. My Mom and I highly recommend Dr. Gambardella!

Dr. Gambardella is TERRIFIC! He's intelligent, efficient and has a great personality! I originally had heel surgery in November, 2018 to remove two bone spurs (NOT by Dr. G) and, unfortunately, ended up with a staph infection (2 times). Seven months later, my foot doctor was moving out of state, so I started to look for a new foot doctor and read up on Dr. G. and also saw all the good reviews- so, I double checked with my infectious disease doctor who recommended his as well and Dr. G saw me right away and performed surgery the following week and I am very happy to say that his surgery and care was a success and I am doing extremely well now. If I or someone I know ever has any foot problems, I will recommend him HIGHLY! The office staff was also top notch!

Dr G is the BEST! Caring, compassionate and always makes you feel at ease. Not quick on the draw for the surgical option. Instead, he allows you to feel comfortable and explain the options that are best for you. I have been a patient of Dr G's since he first arrived in Bloomfield and I feel much more at ease, knowing he's there if I need. It was the luckiest day of my life when I met Dr. Gambardella. He saved my foot and possibly part of my leg from amputation. His confidence helped me get through a difficult time. I would highly recommend Dr. Gambardella.

Dr. Gambardella is fabulous. He is kind, caring and LISTENS to patients! That’s a rarity these days. I had foot surgery performed by this Dr., and I highly recommend him. A+++

Dr Gambardella removed 2 bunions from my daughter's foot. We felt very confident in his abilities AND in HIM, right away. I really like that he spoke directly to BOTH of us. My daughter is autistic and always has a bunch of questions. He is EXTREMELY patient and answers each one, WITHOUT getting annoyed or rushing through the visit. He has really good follow-up and seems to genuinely care about his patients! I highly recommend him!

I am so fortunate to have found Dr. Gambardella. I needed foot surgery and didn't have a podiatrist but had seen Dr. Gambardella a couple of years ago for a routine problem. Recently I had a more acute foot concern and Dr. Gambardella has been top notch in every aspect of my care. His knowledge and competence coupled with his kind and thoughtful manner gave me so much relief in the course of surgery and follow up care. I would say he is the best doctor I have ever dealt in my life.

The only negative has nothing to do with Dr. G's ability, he is the best surgeon. The PT's I worked with were amazed at how advanced his surgery was. I would say the practice needs to offer more advance Occupational support. I had no idea I would go from cast to boot to ankle support. No idea the ankle support would require a larger shoe. No idea in a 3 story house would require multiple knee walkers. No idea I would require a transfer bench to take a shower. Make huge diff.

Dr. Gambardella did an excellent job with foot after toe surgery and has help my healing process to where it should be. I recommend him to anyone because he gives helpful information and made sure that I was making the right steps in healing my toes after toe surgery. One of the best foot specialists I have came across.

Dr. Gambardella performed surgery on my right torn tendon and did a fantastic job!! His care was impeccable and my scar is beautiful! I have been back since for plantar fascitis and I'm being treated for that at this point. I will tell you that I reside in Hamden and drive to Bloomfield just to be seen by him. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!

I was referred to Dr Gambardella from another Podiatric Dr. He saved my second toe, healed my staph infection. With a second surgery, he has now repaired my broken bone and he has given the best care possible. I would recommend Dr Gambardella to all family and friends. Also while in his waiting room -all others that are under his care share the same stories to each other.
