Dr. Froylan Gonzalez, MD

I highly recommend Dr. Froylan Gonzalez, who gave me back quality of life by performing surgery on me. My problem was that my prostate had enlarged with age, increasingly causing my urinary symptoms to keep me from leading a normal, relaxed life. For years, I had been hearing wonderful things about Dr. Gonzalez, including from a neighbor who had come down with prostate cancer, and he was wildly happy after Dr. Gonzalez removed his prostate with wonderful success, leaving my neighbor feeling no ill effects. For me, Dr. Gonzalez performed a combination of a green-light laser and TURP surgery. Now I have a remarkably improved quality of life. I am readily able to urinate. My urinary stream is as strong as when I was decades younger. I have no incontinence. When I was a young man, I had no idea of how enlarging of the prostate could impact quality of life so severely. I am very glad to have been under the care of such a knowledgeable urologist and highly skilled surgeon.

Dr Gonzalez did surgery on my husband to remove a kidney with a massive tumor and other tumors in his vena cava. He clearly explained the diagnosis and options. We moved ahead with the surgery understanding the options and risks. There were some unexpected complications but Dr Gonzalez and his associate quickly moved into action and did what was necessary to save him. He continued to follow up on his progress. We have complete confidence in him with not only his skills but his personal commitment to my husband’s well being. We highly recommend him.

Pitiful lack of compassion. Ample hubris.

I owe my life to Dr. GONZALEZ. After being told by my regular urologist that my prostate cancer had not advanced, my body just didn't feel right. I went to my PC for a check up and he said I was good. I went to Dr GONZALEZ who read my history and suggested that at my age with my history and my my weird feeling I should remove my prostate. During the surgery he found the cancer had broken through the prostate wall and to some connecting tissue. I would highly recommend him to any patient with prostate issue. HE IS DA MAN!!!!

Dr Froylan Gonzalez is one of my most favorite surgeons with his compassionate bedside manner and great surgical skills. I trusted him only to do my kidney surgery 7 years ago, then with my pelvic floor surgery here just recently. I highly recommend him. He is highly skilled and talented and takes time to answer your questions and feel good about the procedure.

His egotism was much more apparent than his communication regarding my husband’s serious medical situation. This was the post sx follow-up. The following week my husband developed a serious infection which resulted in the rupturing of the incision. Eventually the wonderful NA Cathy Carman took this seriously. I believe her email contact is the only reason the physician showed up since he had been MIA the previous week when I had concern of a developing infection. Due to “community standards, l can only divulge my lack of trust in this physician. But we will be finding a more compassionate and less arrogant urologist for my husband.

I recently had prostate surgery performed by Dr. Gonzalez. I found him to be curt when he spoke to me, unconcerned to thoroughly answering my questions and conducted himself without compassion. At the height of COVID in Georgia, there were patients in the waiting room without masks. And there was no social distancing in the waiting room--the chairs were lined up right next to each other as they were before the pandemic. Following my surgery, my immediate family weren't contacted by the Dr. Gonzalez. He didn't call until late in the afternoon to let them know how the surgery went. While he may be a good surgeon, Dr. Gonzalez is completely wrapped up serving his own ego.

Doctor Gonzalez is a credit to his profession I was referred to Doctor Gonzalez after a recent diagnosis of prostate cancer. As you would expect, I had a lot of questions and concerns. In my first visit he conveyed a sense of “this is going to be Ok”. He was confident and very knowledgeable regarding my condition. He was open to second opinions and even made recommendations. Dr. Gonzalez has performed thousands of robotic radical prostatectomies. You don’t want someone without experience doing this procedure. If they don’t cut enough, they leave some cancer. If they cut too much, they will damage the nerves. My surgery went great! The only discomfort was the bloating a few hours after the procedure. (They pump you full of air). I’m cancer free and no nerve damage. Thank you very much for everything Doctor Gonzalez.

I was referred to Dr. Gonzalez to perform a robotic prostatectomy. I had a lot of questions about my options and about the surgery. He was able to answer all of my questions clearly and confidently, he addressed the risks without raising any anxiety, and made me feel confident about his qualifications, the prep, the procedure itself and the recovery. The surgery went very smoothly and both the outcome of the surgery and my recovery process were excellent.

Is there any way to give a 10 star rating? After an incidental finding of a large kidney tumor during a CT scan, I was told that I needed to see a urologist. Because I had such a great experience with Dr. Gonzalez 3 years ago when he performed a robotic radical prostatectomy with great success, I knew he would be the one to see about this kidney. Surgery was this week in which Dr. Gonzalez was able to save about 1/2 my kidney after removing the tumor. Although we will not know biopsy results for a week or so, we will always sing Dr. Gonzalez's praises. He is the most caring, compassionate, skilled surgeon we know of. The Gibson family loves Dr. Gonzalez!

Don’t trust him. He lies.

Dr Gonzalez is nothing short of an amazing doctor. By the time I sought his care I had been told many different things by at least 4 different doctors with no real answers or explanation for what was happening with my health. He was the first doctor to sit down beside me and illistrate what the tests meant and what his action plan was. He explained everything thoroughly and made an effort to be sure I understood what was happening with my body.Then he went above and beyond to find resolution

Dr. Gonzalez did my surgery to repair a fistula, a rare and debilitating condition that had resulted from another surgeon's negligence. His skill in performing this delicate robotic surgery gave me back my quality of life. I am forever grateful to him. From the first appointment through to my recent follow-up, he remains confident and optimistic about my successful results. He is as skilled with women's problems as well as prostate issues for men, which cannot be said about many urologists.

I had Renal Cell Cancer diagnosed in August 2016. Dr. Gonzalez performed a radical nephrectomy with adrenalectomy robotically. I chose Dr. Gonzalez to perfom the surgery over the leading urologist at Emory who specializes in Renal Cell Carcinoma. Dr. Gonzalez is a highly skilled surgeon who is pleasant and easy to talk with. I follow up with him every six months and continue to be impressed with him as my Urologist.

After fighting kidney stones for almost a year and having 5 procedures while under the care of a different physician my kidney eventually failed. I was referred to Dr. Gonzalez for surgery. His compassion and concern for my situation gave me confidence and comfort that the surgery would be successful which it definitely was and through my follow up visits helped me understand why I was having kidney stones and has given me a thorough plan to keep my other kidney healthy. I am very grateful!

I recently had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Gonzalez for a second opinion on a current medical diagnosis. I was extremely impressed with Dr. Gonazlez and how well he explained everything in a clear, easy to understand & straightforward manner.
