Excellent care

I was referred to Dr. Tiesenga by my doctor due to being morbidly obese. From my consultation visit to present, it has been a very positive experience. My sleeve surgery went flawlessly and am feeling so much better in every way. I'm only a few weeks into my new journey but know that things will only get better due to Dr. Tiesenga and his staff. I could not ask for better people, besides my family, to have as my support team. I'd recommend Dr. Tiesenga to anyone looking to better their life through bariatric procedure. THANK YOU DR. Great doctor/surgeon! I've been seeing him for about 5 years and have had 2 surgeries. Always on time, respectful and great bedside manner. Answers questions thoroughly for full comprehension. And best of all, cares about the patients wants.

Definitely recommend Dr Tiesenga and team my experience here has been beyond exceptional. I kept asking him are you sure you did the surgery because thankfully my pain was very minimal like a 2 out of 10. Dr T is awesome!! 5 stars for sure!

I needed a surgeon to repair a hernia,, and a good friend of mine (a physician assistant) recommended him to me. Everything was explained to me on my initial visit, the surgery was performed without any issues, and I had a good follow-up meeting with him about ten days afterwards. I rate Dr. Tiesenga most highly and strongly recommend him.

I visited Dr. Tiesenga's office in November of 2018 and he immediately suggested that I may need a gallbladder removal surgery. He had me take 2 tests and told me that I conclusively needed my gallbladder removed asap. He did not show me any x rays and to this day, I have never seen evidence of gall stones. I was suffering so bad that I agreed to the surgery which happened the following week. On the day of the surgery, his colleagues spoke about how he does 7-10 gallbladder removals every day. This made me nervous, but I was already on the operating table. My life and health changed after that day. Fast forward to 8 months later... I have the same symptoms, plus more! I can't eat, my digestive system is completely messed up and I suffer each and every day. I have seen 3 other GI's t help me and no one knows what's wrong. The thing about him is he isn't in the system like Northwestern and Rush, so none of the other doctors can see his records. I went back back to him 2 months later

Very uncouth person who does not treat others with respect. Behaves as if the hospital is under his proprietorship. Needs to have a grip of reality and realize that treating others with respect actually would work in his favor. How anyone works with this individual is beyond human comprehension. Very intimidating and very difficult to work with. Amazing how anybody can become a surgeon. Would give negative stars if possible.

Dr. T is the most caring and considerate surgeon I have ever met. His patience is limitless and he always has an encouraging word to say. On my last visit I was feeling a little discouraged and Dr. T came in and just with his attentiveness and gentleness made me feel much better. Thank you Dr. T for all that you've done for me.
