Not knowledgeable about tongue tie
I took my newborn to him for tongue-tie revision. Baby could barely nurse, and it was excruciating for me and frustrating for her because she was getting more air than milk in her belly since she couldn't latch properly. She was unable to take a bottle at all, and we'd been through every type of nipple on the market. He kept asking when I stopped nursing. I kept replying I was still nursing because she couldn't eat any other way. He put his finger in her mouth, and she clamped onto it because she was starving. He said that revising her obvious tongue tie 'wouldn't change her behavior.' I replied that she wasn't being naughty, she couldn't eat. He then incorrectly stated that because her tongue could reach her lips, she wasn't restricted. He doesn't understand the motion of the tongue during nursing. Another doctor revised it, and she was immediately able to nurse without pain for me and without painful gas in her belly. My child suffered for weeks before I could get to a qualified dr.

Frustrated Mom – Sep 27, 2024

Meh
While my spouse and I feel that Dr. Roediger is competent, his manner is clinically neutral (read: 'dry') and somewhat off-putting, although scrupulously polite. He appears to be very focused on the idea that he, as *THE* doctor, is in charge and under no circumstances should the patient do anything but sit there and listen. Heaven forbid (!!) the patient or the patient's spouse should ask questions or contribute information that may be relevant, in which case he responds with an always curt but polite 'possibly' - or something to similar effect and shuts down that avenue of exploration. While we understood that as a specialist he is limited (somewhat) to his area of expertise, he comes across as disinterested in or downright hostile to exploring any tangential areas in which he could not be considered the 'expert.'Although, fortunately, it will not be necessary for us to see an otolaryngologist again, were we to have had to do we would seek out someone else.

A Doctor Who Truly Cares!
Dr. Roediger is one of the most caring, personable, and professional medical providers I have experienced. He doesn’t rush you, and takes the time needed to explain your medical condition and how he can help make improvements. He always takes the time to ask how myself and my family are doing and truly takes interest in my well being!

I would never recommend Dr Roediger... I was referred to him regarding a lump on my neck, as a 5 year throat cancer survivor, and he determined it was not cancer on our first visit. He refused to do a biopsy, prescribed antibiotics for what he seemed an infection, and for the next 3 months continued that course. He told me out blank it was not cancer and could not justify a biopsy. Strange considering my cancer history in that precise area. I finally demanded a biopsy, threatening legal action if he did not perform the procedure, as it was getting bigger and scarier. I met with him the day before the biopsy and he examined it again and said " I'm more convinced than ever that it's not cancer". Fact.. he said this verbatim. He knows this... I've spoken with him about it several times. Well.. the next day the biopsy came back positive for squamous cell carcinoma... The same type. Patient services investigated and good doctor lied. Claims he never said that. The man is without integrity.

Dr. Roediger was referred by my physician on an emergency basis and he saw me the very next day. Dr. Roediger was very thorough and listened intently to me when I explained the problem. The diagnosis was not the expected outcome and he referred me to another Physician. He asked his staff to make an appointment for me and I had the appointment before leaving the office. This was above and beyond what a physician usually does. He is a very caring individual that I would highly recommend.

He was so wonderful with my one year old. We went for a second opinion for his ears and we feel much more confident with him than our previous doctor. He's so polite and has a great bedside manner.

Don't be late or they will try to reschedule you. I called the office telling them exactly where I was turn for turn. As soon as I got there I was told I could not be seen and must reschedule. I feel the office staff was very unprofessional. I was barley 15 minutes late. I will do my best to avoid Maine Medical Partners at all cost. If they treat new patients this way I can only imagine how they treat existing patients.

He is very personable. Shows care and concern for his patients and explains things in detail. Highly recommend him. He took care of my 4 year old daughter removing her tonsils and adenoids and I was very impressed with how he took care of her.
