Undiagnosed Cancerous Tumor
My mother was a patient of Dr. Piwko, she complained about pain in her hip/back area for several months. Dr. Piwko told her it was probably arthritis. Pain continued and my mother saw the nurse practitioner, who prescribed a steroid for the inflammation. INFLAMMATION OF WHAT????? NO MRI.....NO SCAN......NOTHING. My mother ended up at Buffalo General Hospital with SEVERE PAIN. She has an 8cm Cancerous Tumor that has gone UNDIAGNOSED for a full year! We have switched her primary care doctor and are now dealing with ROSWELL PARK CANCER INSTITUTE. If Dr. Piwko or his nurse practitioner would have ordered some simple tests, this could have been avoided or simplified! Further more, when my mother went in for her annual physical, Dr. Piwko DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH HER. HE SAT ACROSS THE ROOM AND ASKED HER QUESTIONS. How do you do a physical with out an examination?
