Acts Like a Real Person, Talks Like a Friend
Dr. Orlando has been my primary physician for several years. He has always listened to my input, given helpful suggestions, and acted like a 'real' person, not arrogantly or dismissively. No, he is not 'perfect'...he's human. The 2 or 3 minor disappointments were neither serious nor intentional, and have been far outweighed by the pleasant and helpful manner he displays. I've never heard him be negative, or witnessed any criticism of myself or others. In fact, he has been very complimentary on almost every occasion. He suggests but never is forceful about medications or unnecessary procedures.

Dr. Orlando is compassionate, thoughtful, and sometimes very funny. He works hard with me to explain his hopes and expectations for my treatment. He is honest and stern only when his very clear directions are not followed. Then he offers corrective instruction and advice. As always, Dr. Orlando is providing specific directions for my benefit and health care, and it is obvious to me that beyond the professional relationship, he cares about me as a person, as well as my positive health outcomes under his care. I believe this to be true for all of his patients. He is an excellent doctor!

He started off nice, but that actually played to his detriment when his demeanor could rapidly switch. I was misdiagnosed, and then got contradictory information from medical professionals about the consequences of that diagnosis. He stated to me it wouldn't really matter since the specialist I was asking to be referred to would sort it out. When the specialist's office called, they said it does matter. I used up my second visit and was basically ignored and spoken to harshly despite my situation. It was my first visit, and I was in a critical situation seeking help. I was unable to find medical care afterwards and have just had to deal with my situation alone. I filed an investigation but was never even consulted. They just determined he was right without anyone talking to me further or looking at my evidence. I contacted the department of health, but they stated that when this happens, there isn't much that they can do. I was in a room without cameras or audio recordings.

I don’t know how he got hired. He misdiagnosed me twice and I nearly died! I don’t know if he’s posting these positive reviews himself or if he hired someone too but he’s one of the worst doctors in Gainesville for sure.

He’s extremely unintelligent for a doctor. I don’t know how he got his degree. His diagnosis was way off and I nearly died.

I think he might be evil and some kind of person who lacks empathy and understanding towards patients with more complex cases. He also just generally has an unnerving vibe.

Dr. O tried to force my knee (severe~pain) to bend. Said he could not provide the referral without it moving. He should be in construction, clearly medicine is not his field. Finaly after 5 weeks his office reluctantly sent the referral. MRI results: my meniscus was torn from corner to corner. Bending was impossible! I had surgery (too late) thus I will limp the rest of my life because of Doctors Micheal Lawrence (shands 39th emergency center) and Frank Orlando. Avoid them at all costs.

Frank Orlando is a good doctor, and I've had many as I've a lot of health issues. He correctly diagnosed my shoulder injury and helped me avoid seeing an ortho specialist. He is knowledgeable and professional. The only complaint I have is that he gets behind, probably because he spends more time than he's supposed to with his patients (which can be viewed as a good thing), so I recommend seeing him first thing in the morning or after lunch.

I have to wonder what kind of doctors people had who rated him highly! At best he is below average. He is NOT a diagnostician-asks too many irrelevant questions Does not seem to trust previous doctors medication or treatment plan-even if it is working well. In short he has a LOT to learn! We will not be going back!

Went to him for a stomach ulcer. He was concerned I had may have a liver issue. He prescribed medication that was supposedly liver friendly. Upon seeing an G.I. and Oncologist they both said he was so unbelievably far of, it was almost purposeful negligence. The initial reason for my diagnosis was Alcoholism because I was drinking 2 - 3 beers a day. Both of my follow up doctors said that it was absolutely absurd that he would even suggest this. He ignored all other signs and symptoms.

It was awful! He diagnosed me with illnesses I didn't have, he told me lies about the medication I was taking when I first came to him...said that it causes symptoms that it clearly doesn't cause. He prescribed me a medication that I threw away when I read what it was for, because he diagnosed me wrong with that problem too! HE IS AN IDIOT!
