Incredibly knowledgeable and professional!
Dr. Maffei was the first Dr. I met when my son was life flighted from being at the LLWS. The time Easton landed on life flight to being on the OR was 16 min. In that time Dr. Maffei and team had done blood work, Scans, and X-Rays. My son had no time to spare. Dr. Maffei was the perfect Dr. that Easton needed to save his life! He was a part of the surgery for Eastons Epidural Hematoma with Dr. Goren. Dr. Maffei treated Nancy and I with the upmost respect and kindness. Dr. Maffei’s ability to communicate and work with us was absolute perfection! Dr. Maffei’s ability to be humble and kind with us brought us much comfort through such a difficult time! He is a compassionate man and never treated us as “patients” parents. He treated us like we were family. He is a special person in our lives and we know why Geisinger hospital has such an incredible name and credibility. It is because of men like him! We will forever be grateful to Dr. Maffei and saving our son when all odds were against him!

THE BEST OF THE BEST, VERY VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, CARING, SMART, INTELLIGENT, TREATED MY SON AS HE WOULD HIS OWN. I believe this doctor should win the best dr award. Dr. Maffei thank you for all you did and do. you and your NICU & PICU staff are very appreciated , respected your hard work is never forgotten and your wise intelligent knowledge is set as an example of the Best of the Best in our world. wish there more doctors and nurses like you and your teams.. we thank you very much.

Dr Maffei helped along with an amazing staff to save my 16 year old sons life in 2010. He is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. If you are ever in the unfortunate situation to meet him, be assured you are in the best of care. Myself and my son will be forever grateful to "Frank", as his staff calls him.
