Worse after operation
I should have listened to the Drs in New York that wouldn’t touch my 3 Tarlov Cysts, saying it was too dangerous. Wanting relief I flew to Texas to be operated on. Saw the Dr 1 time and that’s it. He operates and that’s all you see of him. Even after developing pneumonia in the hospital, he didn’t check up on me. After 1 year post-op I’m in more pain than before. There’s no follow up or concern on his part. I wish I didn’t have it done.

Rude is the only polite thing I can say
Telehealth
Waited 3 months for the phone consult only to have him ask, 'Why someone my age wants to have surgery?' When I said I did not want to end up in a wheelchair, his retort was 'are you in one now?' I asked if he looked at the MRI of the brain, he said no. I should have hung up after the wheelchair comment because the convo never got any better or informative. He ended by saying he would order a nerve block to rule out any other cause. I said there is no other than the cyst. He never sent an order.

Gifted surgeon
I highly recommend Dr. Feigenbaum. I had tarlov cysts compressing five sacral nerve roots that had eroded my sacrum. Dr. Feigenbaum is one of only a few surgeons in the United States who does this type of surgery on tarlov cysts. The surgery he performed will allow me function from the waist down. I felt better upon waking up from the surgery. I have had an uneventful recovery. I couldn’t be more thankful for this incredible doctor. Dr. Feigenbaum, his staff, and the staff at Medical City Spine Hospital are all polite, kind, and professional. You are in good hands! So thankful that Dr. Feigenbaum decided to dedicate his career on this very delicate surgery and helping us who have Tarlov Cyst Disease.

I Highly Recommend Dr. Feigenbaum
I am so grateful for Dr. F. I had surgery at Medical City heart and spine. He is the expert in dealing with TC's. I had 6 cyst. All were compressing nerves and my symptoms were getting worse by the week until I had surgery. Since surgery many of my symptoms are completely better while the others are showing great improvement. I highly recommend Dr. F. He is direct, honest, caring and extremely capable in dealing with TC's.

I dealt with chronic back pain for years. I went to dozens of docs and therapies with no relief, and visited Dr Feigenbaum as a last resort. He did a surgery on my thoracic tarlov cyst that was very successful. This doctor gave me my life back when every other doc basically told me to live with nerve pain for the rest of my life- at 30 years old. What I liked best about him is that he was always honest about the possibilities. He did not promise he’d fix me, but he did and I’ll be forever grateful.

I am writing to inform out of state patients who were thinking of having Tarlov Cyst surgery with Dr. Fagenbaum and intend obtaining pre-approval from insurance company to use an out of network Doctor. I was not informed prior to surgery by anyone that Dr. Fagenbaum could request testing or consults by Doctors out of network and that I could get a bill after I was gone. I spoke to multiple office staff members in both Dr. Fagenbaums office and the out of network Doctors office and they are stating there is nothing they could do and I have to pay the bill. I feel this should have been included in my bill submitted by Dr. Fagenbaum and that the ball was dropped by his office staff by not informing the out of network Doctor and myself. I was happy with the surgery/care provided even though it did not relieve all my symptoms. This office lacks communication. I am also dissatisfied with the follow up testing communication which was never completed.

Feigenbaum performed surgery on me over 2 years ago to remove 7 tarlov cysts in my sacrum. Before the surgery, I was a fully functioning person. I drove , I shopped, I traveled. I just couldn't sit comfortably for more than 15 minutes. This surgery was the biggest mistake my entire life! Since the surgery I have been in VERY SEVERE, nonstop pain. Now I cannot sit AT ALL even for one minute because of the extreme pain. I have chronic nerve damage now. I cannot stand for more than 15 to 30 minutes at the most. I can't walk further than 1-2 blocks. I can't eat a meal with my family. I can't go to the dentist, get a haircut, see a movie, travel, meet a friend for lunch, babysit for my grandchildren, go to a wedding or do anything this requires sitting... I have to lie down on the back seat of a car in order to get anywhere. I have tried EVERYTHING, even two spinal stimulators. Nothing has helped. Dr. Feigenbaum DOES NOT CARE and has not shown any compassion nor taken any responsibilit

Surgery, January 7th at Medical City spine and heart Hospital He did an awesome . I am amazed at how I am feeling. I was having issues with both my legs, incontinence where I had to wear Depends and lost control of my bowels. When I woke up Idid have pain but they said they were going to give me some pain medicine which they did right away. When I woke my sister asked me how I was feeling I said, not too bad. I thought I would feel worse. Later, that day they bought me the ice machinewhich helped me a lot. P I was out of bed walking the hallways as they asked me to it was uncomfortable, but I know you cannot stay still. After I left the hospital, I went back to my hotel until I went for my recheck with Doctor Frank. I did have some nerve damage, numbkng in my private area but has since gone away after a month. I just want to thank Dr.Feigenbaum, his amazing staff, hospital staff for making me comfortable as I was petrified. You are truly awesome and caring group. Janet Iaci

Initial surgery went well but post op flare ups and complications are not dealt with at all. Impossible to get records sent to other hospitals when needed urgently. I’m now having symptoms that I had prior to surgery and the doctors that are trying to help me find answers can’t even look at my operative report because they won’t send it. When I call for questions or recommendations, the only answers I get are to try things I’m already doing that aren’t helping. Very disappointed at post op care and lack there of.

Dr. Feigenbaum and his staff are wonderful. If it weren’t for Dr. Feigenbaum specializing in Tarlov Cyst Disease, I would be bed bound by now and probably unable to walk. It’s been 5.5 years since my surgery, and I’m back to enjoying my normal life. I’m so thankful to God for gifting Dr. Feigenbaum with a heart to care for us “rare” patients, and for such gifted and steady hands.

I can't begin to convey my gratitude for Dr. Feigenbaum and his staff. He restored my wife's mobility. He is the only neurosurgeon of 6 we consulted that listened and believed us. He was the only one willing to perform the needed surgery. And he was absolutely right. What a phenomenal doctor.
