Before then only 4% of prostate cancers diagnosed were curable. Today there are 3.3 million prostate cancer survivors walking around the planet. Dr. McGovern saved my life 25 years ago (1999) with a radical prostatectomy. Dr. McGovern performed a radical prostate surgery on me Sept. 28,2022. I could not have asked for a better surgeon. His experience and attention to detail are exceptional. Prior to surgery we met in his office and he explained the pros and cons of the various types of treatment and answered all my questions and put to rest my concerns. He is simply the best.

Dr.McGovern performed radical prostatectomy in March 2022 to cure my prostate cancer. The result exceeded any expectations. I had a complication because my cancer effected soft tissues around prostate which led to T3a staging. Today I had my first psa and it was perfect. Dr. McGovern’s level of skill and professionalism is phenomenal. He is probably one of the very best urology surgeons in the country today. He was called the "doctor's doctor" by more than one of my other specialists, and he has performed thousands of these procedures. His skill and thoughtfulness stand out, as he called me on Christmas Eve, on his day off, to guide me thorough catheter removal so I could enjoy my Christmas without it. Above and beyond in every way.

Dr. McGovern performed bladder cancer surgery for my dad. He is in a league of his own and does not mince words about your situation. He runs a first class operation. His team keeps you updated throughout the surgery and after. Highly recommend.

Dr McGovern is absolutely the best. I had prostate surgery scheduled 1000 miles away where I lived at the time, but was fortunate to get a consult with Dr. McGovern. After 5 minutes I knew that he was the one who I wanted to do my surgery- even though it involved the extra expense of traveling that far. I have been cancer free now for 4+ years and have had no problems whatsoever- and I can say that being able to have Dr McGovern perform my surgery was one of the best things that has happened in my life. I have the greatest respect for him as a surgeon, as a person and as a friend! If I could assign a rating of over 5, I would certainly do so

Dr McGovern provided me with a series of diagnostic procedures to assess if my prostate has cancer, including digital exam MRI scan and biopsy. the best in the world. Thirteen years later, doing better than i thought when first diagnosed with kidney cancer. I was symptomatic, i was initially misdiagnosed in my local ER. I was sent to Lahey initially and left quickly before they could embolize, TG! Thanks to a cousin's son in law's boss's recommendation, i went to see Dr. McGovern. The hospital nursing and dietary staff need improvement, but i would say this doctor and the surgical team were second to none!
