Doesn't Listen Jumps to False Conclusions
I visited Dr. Hardaway once to attempt to get a condition confirmed and treated. I was suffering from a Spontaneous Spinal Fluid Leak. Dr. Hardaway claimed it was not possible even though she had the MRI that showed the problem. She disregarded everything that I told her & told me it must be related to Alpha Gal (another condition of mine). I did finally find a Neurologist that knew how to read the MRI & was probably treated. Dr. Hardaway was a major waste of time and money.

Wasted my time and money!
Initially seemed caring and understanding and then on follow up visit minimized my neurological disease as, “not that bad”. She also contradicted herself and said that radiculopathy wouldn’t be from my condition, yet then said there was “no way to determine if my symptoms were caused from my Chiari. I also had requested a telehealth visit instead of driving over 100 miles in which she denied, because “she needed to see me in person”. I get there for her to tell me “I’m fine”. Unacceptable.

This appointment was the follow up to the follow up. However, she didn't have the answers to some very basic questions, as to why I was seeing her. When asked direct questions regarding the treatment plan, she just got this baffled look on her face, and her answers were circular at worst, absolutely confusing at best. She saw the swelling, she got this shocked look on her face, and when we told her fluid broke through the scar, she had a more puzzled look. When I asked about the XRay and comparison (which was important), she said that wasn't attainable with that modality. So why order that one???? She was mainly concerned as to where I was getting my pain meds from. Well I can tell you who its NOT....She did grant me, with yes, you will have a lot more pain....but will not do anything to help. She begrudgingly offered to follow up 4-6months. 4 to 6 months. Suffer 6 months longer. The amount of care shown to me is the same number of stars given to her.

Visited Dr. Hardaway for my back and leg pain after a couple months of physical therapy and 2 injections that provided a small amount of relief. I called on a Monday and took a cancellation for my first consult on Friday. Surgery was scheduled about 2 and half weeks after my visit and I’m so glad I went with her. I was anxious about surgery having never had a surgery before and she took all the time necessary to answer my questions and set clear expectations. Her bedside manner and care shine through. All of the staff at the office makes a bad situation a whole lot easier.

After months of severe sciatic leg pain, PT, several injections at pain management all with no relief, my next visit was to Dr Hardaway. She was very patient and thorough and explained what needed to be done to get relief and she also explained there was no guarantee. Back surgery was done 3 weeks ago and I am healing very well with no complications and no more leg pain, I am still experiencing some tingling in my foot but hopeful this too will go away. I highly recommend Dr Hardaway and if I have anything in the future that requires a neurosurgeon it will be her.
