Dr. Ferras Zeni, MD

In 1982 I had a skiing accident on rented skis at a upper Michigan Ski Resort. I tumbled down a sloped hill and when I landed at the bottom, I was in severe pain. I went to the ER and was told I had a bad sprain. I had PT over the next several years with no improvement. I researched highly recommended orthopedic doctors to find out why I was in so much pain dailey. I went to doctors in California, Georgia, Tennessee and Michigan. Including the University of Michigan. I heard over and over from top rated doctors I had Arthritis, mild but was causing the pain. Doctors looked no further and wrote me off. The ankle started given out in 2017, I could not longer walk on it. I then tried Dr. Zeni, M.D. who read the X-ray and noted my tibia was 1" off and I had several old breaks that did not heal. He completed an partial ankle replacement. I live free and have my ankle no pain. I am back to hiking, horseback riding, kayaking and living my life.

Great Doctor. He did a great Achilles Tendon Rupture Surgery on me. It was detached from the bone. I’m up walking now and starting Physical Therapy soon. I highly recommend Dr Zeni and his staff. Surgery was Dec 1 2020. 5 Stars.

He did my foot surgery on 07/10/2020. Very happy with my surgery everything went well and will refer anyone to him.

I fell and broke my wrist and was sent to Dr. Zeni from the ER. He set my wrist, but I was not going to get full range of motion without surgery, so he did an open reduction internal fixation five days later. I'm in OT and doing great. Dr. Zeni did a great job and I would highly recommend him.

Had a serious fracture of my ankle involving 3 bones. Dr. Zeni was kind and respectful. He performed surgery and now I am back walking. He is a very skilled surgeon who treats patients like family. There should be more like him.

Dr. Zeni did a fantastic job treating my broken foot, using a minimally invasive procedure to correct 3 fractures. Recovery was significantly faster because of this, and I was back on my feet (literally) in no time. Him and his staff were very courteous and always made sure I was comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Zeni to patients seeking effective treatment plans/procedures with little downtime.

Dr. Zeni repaired my Achilles Tendon on March 26, 2016, and to date, I’ve had to have 14 more surgeries, just to keep from losing my leg from below the knee! I’ve been to Specialtist from Michigan all the way down to Shands, in Gainesville, Fl. My last surgery on 6-5-20, is indeed the last. There is nothing else that can be done, if this fails. I’ve had to have major reconstructive surgeries that I had to be in ICU for 2 of the surgeries that were 14 and 16 days long without getting out of bed. I have had to spend so much time in bed, that I have missed out on so much in the past 4.3 years, not to mention, the hospital cost have been astronomical, as well as home healthcare, physical therapy and medical supplies.

I cannot say enough to thank Dr. Ferras Zeni for his skill as a Orthopedic Foot Surgeon. God blessed me by leading me to him. I had been experiencing increasing pain and difficulty walking since my total hip replacement in 2015 when I lived in Florida. I saw three different podiatrists over the years, but they all told me the same thing: surgery would not be an option, and I would have to wear foot braces 24/7 and supportive shoes or hiking boots. When I could only walk five minutes until the pain made me sit, I began to grapple with the very real possibility that I would soon be using a wheelchair. I am certain that God led me to Dr. Zeni. He gave me a thorough exam of both my feet and totally surprised me when he said that he was confident he could fix my foot. He explained things clearly so I knew what to expect. Fast forward: a 5-hour surgery to fix an acquired clubfoot on 9/12/19. Now, a perfect foot! I have followed rehab instructions exactly. God bless you, Dr.!

I shattered the 2nd, 3rd & 4th metatarsals in my foot. Surgery was my only option. By luck I got Dr. Zeni as my surgeon. He has great skills and his PA Alex along with the rest of the support staff are great! Dr. Zeni is confident enough to set you at ease, but he is not arrogant like some surgeons can be. It’s been a process recovering from this injury and Dr. Zeni has listened to my concerns and answered all of my many questions. My family has been very impressed with Dr. Zeni and staff, especially my 81 yr old mother who came from out of town for the surgery and was included in all of the details and goings on throughout surgery day. Dr. Zeni and Alex were very considerate with her. I definitely recommend Dr. Zeni and Henry Ford Main.

Dr. Zeni is a kind, knowledgeable, and very skilled surgeon. He is up to date on the latest surgical techniques.

I recommend Dr. Zeni to anyone who is having ankle problems. I had broken my ankle as bad as one could get. 2 surgeries,13 screws and a metal plate, it still healed wrong. I was in constant pain. I had had enough. I wss referred to Dr. Zeni. I agreed to an ankle replacement and I have not hurt since surgery. I can walk again without a limp or pain. Its been over 3 years since i could do that. Go see Dr. Zeni. He is the best!!!!!

Dr. Zeni is the BEST. We are older patients and he takes all the time “we” need and explains exactly what we should do. He has done several surgeries and has been careful to explain all that each involves and what we should expect. His honest approach is exactly what we need and keeps us coming back. Henry Ford is lucky to have Dr. Zeni on their team!

I had drop-foot and was always tripping after Dr. Zeni did surgery haven't tripped once.

Dr. Zeni just did a cartiva implant of my right big toe back in February. Everything went really well. He explained the whole procedure and post op visits went well.

Dr. Zeni did surgery on both of my feet. I'm so pleased that I can walk without pain.

Dr Zeni is a great doctor I went in to ask him about what we could do about my ankle because it was a bone on bone from arthritis in that my quality-of-life was just awful and he explained everything and said we’re not going to fuse it we’re going to make it so that you can move it around and I said OK and he said well we ‘ll set you up and will get it done I said fine so On 13th of September we went in andeverything went well and thru it all- no pain whatsoever. Wonderful experience THANKS ??

Has done two surgeries for me and if I need another will definitely come to Dr. Zeni. Very professional, detailed in explaining the procedure and follow up, patient in answering all my questions.

Dr. Zeni is very knowledgeable about my charming Charcot Foot. I have come to trust his word my toe will improve with some time. He takes the time to answer questions and ease concerns. He has a warm friendly demeanor that is appreciated in this time of fast appointments and lack of "bedside" manner. I feel very fortunate to have him in my corner.
