Marvin Michaelis
My husband was a patient of Dr Safi for many years. I believe the diagnosis and treatment he received extended his life while giving him a better quality of life. Recently I recommended Dr Safi to a friend. She has received the same exemplary care Marvin experienced. I consider Dr Safi to be a knowledgable, caring and professional physician. I will continue to recommend Dr Safi to anyone seeking an excellent pulmonary specialist.

Dr. Safi saved my loved one's life against extraordinarily bad odds from pneumonia & ARDS. Despite a plethora of complications, he never gave up & showed exceptional clinical knowledge & decision-making skills. He inspired confidence from our first meeting & continues to do so. He is patient & respectful with questions & suggestions, & explains complex conditions in a way that is easily understood. He is honest & direct, gives realistic prognoses, & shows compassion for both patient & family.

Smart man but worst bed-side manner I have witnessed from a doctor. We dealt with 6 doctors and 12 nurses during our time at Mercy Health and all 11 were fantastic except for Dr. Safi. He didn't seem to care much for the life of his patient or how his family might take bad news about the patient. He rushed through things telling us to just "trust him" and seemed like he was just running a business dealing with a product rather than a human life.
What went well
  • Staff friendliness
What could be improved
  • Difficult to schedule appointment
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Didn't explain conditions well
  • Appointment was rushed
  • Didn't trust the provider's decisions
