So Long story short, Dr Atassi is a brilliant surgeon. However, his job is to save your a$$, not kiss it. He was professional and to the point. The med surg team amazing. Besides a few pokes and pricks I came out great. If you want bedside manner, not the guy, if you want what the staff describes as an amazing doctor to put your life into his hands. The right guy.

Run away
Atassi has a God complex. He does not spend anytime talking to you or listening to you. He walked out during a procedure on my father then did the same thing with me. If he had listened to both of us in the first place we wouldn't of had a problem. Run don't walk far away from this doctor!

Professional and caring
Dr. Atassi has been my cardiologist for over 10 years. I found him to be very professional and knowledgeable after my first encounter with him at Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center. It was there he found blockage of 4 of my arteries and referred me to another surgeon for my bypass surgery. He is an attentive listener and, my wife, who is also his patient, always has her questions answered. This is no small task I assure you! Our family recommends Dr. Atassi not only for his professional services but for his understanding and empathy. Rick C

Knowledgeable about your health
I have only seen Dr. Atassi a couple times, but each time I have been satisfied with the care that was given to me. He knew about my heart history on my first visit to him. So far I am very pleased with him and his staff.

Expect to wait long hours to be seen with appt.
I have had to reschedule my follow-up visit 3x due to the long waits to see him. If ones appointment is to see Dr Atassi plan on spending a couple hours or more to be seen. It's so rediculous I will most likely seek another Doctor for health care. Dr Atassi may be extremely knowledgeable but so are others. If this Doctor is spread this thin I am concerned on how well he can take care of his patients. I hope it is only because he is short staffed and can quickly correct this problem. So far today I have been waiting over 2 hours.

No! I do not recommend Dr. Atassi. I thought he was good 7-8 yrs ago, but about 2 yrs ago he told me to call hospice & go to a nursing home, because he could do nothing more for me and that I'd been in E.R. too many times. Basically, lay down and die. Also, said he would have never done procedures that OTHER cardiologists did to save my life. Nor did Atassi ever tell me what I could do to slow or maybe stop the progression of my heart problems, which the OTHER cardiologists have since done. He gave meds and said you're doing good, as my heart failure progressed. Thank God for Dr. Roberto Cervera who called and consulted with one of those OTHER cardiologists in a Phoenix hospital from my HRMC hospital room prior to Atassi giving up on me. Dr. Cervera had me air lifted to Phoenix. He knew what needed to be done. He saved my life...he wanted me to live, even though I am considered "elderly" and had never met him before.

Husband needed a stent, went through 2 procedures (through the groin) and was not successful. Went to a Doctor in Seattle and was fixed up in a couple hours. The difference was going through the vein in his arm which is standard procedure. He just shook his head that this doctor is still going through the groin instead of the arm. Last visit with Dr Atassi before we left had him very unhappy that we were leaving town the next day and offered to do the surgery (in the arm) at his office...... Blockage was 95%! Will not be back to him!

Kudos to the docs/PA Trish and staff at Lakeside Heart. They have been accommodating and pleasant, making an awful experience bearable for me. More important than that, they seem to be "state of the art" in terms of practices/available procedures and knowledge. The Cardiac Cath staff and Lab were awesome; Doug, Dawn and Tiyana. AND, the Cardiac Rehab program is terrific. Top notch! Human AND professional.

Dr. Atassi proscribes a pill or procedure but does absolutely nothing to find the cause. I had recent weight gain, edema in my ankles and he suggests a water bill. Currently I'm experiencing a-fib daily and he suggests ablation. How about looking at current medication and changing it. He was arrogant and I did not feel comfortable at all.. I asked my primary care to refer me to a different cardiologist.

I was fired by my cardiologist because HE made a mistake. He ordered an angiogram 16 months ago and said my results showed a 40% blockage but my heart is fine, take a baby aspirin. He NEVER discussed a statin. At my annual physical with my GP, this blockage was discussed and she wanted to confer with him. They both were recommending statin. I made an appt to talk to him today and asked him why he didn't prescribe one after my angiogram to which he said I can find another cardiologist out of town

My husband and I was patients for years, I thought he was the best until I realized he was just about his popularity. My husband was told at his last appt. he was doing good, to see him in 6 months. 7 days later I brought him to e.r, dr Atassi told us he needed a 5 bypass, and they had no surgeon here he had to be air lifted for surg. How can you be doing good and need a severe bypass within 7 days. My husband passed before this was accomplished,, I will NEVER recommend this doctor.
