Dr Michelin supervises residents at UT Medical Center. One of his residents was consulted on my admission by the ER doctor, who wanted me admitted for severe upper abdominal pain and elevated liver enzymes. I was discharged with OxyContin and antibiotics (even though my urine was clean and my kidneys were fine). Two days later, I was in acute liver failure and had hepatic encephalopathy. I was put on the liver transplant list, taken to Vanderbilt in an ambulance, and going into multi-system organ failure. When we sent a letter to several higher ups at UT Hospital, we were told not only was the resident reprimanded, but Dr Mihelic was too. We were issued an apology from the hospital's general counsel and CEO. The head of the ER agreed I should have been admitted. Dr Mihelic has not once apologized for his resident's negligence. As the daughter of a physician, I know the buck stops with him as the supervising physician. It was a near fatal mistake that would have cost him his license.

I have been seeing Dr. Mihelic since October 2004. Dr. Mihelic has always taken his time to answer my questions and address my concerns. He listens to what I say about my body. Also, Dr. Mihelic is not the kind of doctor to push more pills on his patients. He has always said 'less is best'. If he runs behind, it is because he wants to be sure his patients understands their treatment.

I started seeing Dr. Mihelic around Oct. 2004. This was right before my cancer surgery ( prostate) removed. I have found him to be knowledgeable, and caring. I do not think I would be alive today, if it was not for one the Lord Jesus, and Dr. Mihelic.
