made my skin worse
I have been seeing her for a few months. She put me on treatment for my acne that had become too expensive for me. After stopping the treatment my skin became worse than ever before, went from barely any acne to deep painful cystic acne. It has impacted my self esteem greatly and is deeply upsetting. She hardly listened to me and prescribed something extreme for a mild case. It feels like she barely looked at my skin and just prescribed me anything under the sun. It’s also incredibly difficult to contact her at all. Have to call her office 2x for 3 days to get any response from her team, they don’t respond to messages. Also very long wait times in the office. I would not recommend her to anyone and would never go back to see her again.

If Zero Stars were an Option…
She rushed me and didn’t listen to what I had to say. I went for a growth on my face and all she wanted to talk about is I have rosacea. I had a rash under my breast and she refused to give me medicine saying it was a mark from my bra. Two days later it was burning and spread. She said their plastic surgeon needed to address the facial growth with a biopsy. The office said Medicare should cover it and I should wait a month for my insurance company’s approval. One month later they said it would cost me $10,000 minus $25 from my insurance because their surgeons do not take Medicare. Why didn’t they tell me that in the first place. I went someplace else, the surgeon took Medicare, it cost $35. The rosacea medicine has done nothing. I won’t even call her, I’m going elsewhere.

Terrible, uncaring doctor
I recently saw Dr. Lupenko for a suspicious mole on my arm. She rushed through my appointment and only cared about referring me for plastic and cosmetic surgery- which I had no interest in! She said her office would contact me to set up an appointment to have the suspicious mole removed, but they never did. She was very uncaring, very rushed, and if you are not there for plastic surgery, don't bother! Find another dermatologist.

Wonderful, Dr. Lupenko is not in Garden City anymore. She is in Woodbury and has a private parking lot! She was extremely attentive to my needs and took excellent care of my dermatological needs. Highly recommend.

Awful experience. Dr. removed several crusty growths which needed to be removed. Some with liquid nitrogen which I have had done with other MD’s and she did well with that. But she was brutal when it came to scraping off things that needed scraping. She refused to give me some lidocaine to numb prior to scrapping. Which all other Derms had done over the years. When I got home I was bleeding through bandages she wrapped. While she seemed pleasant as a person her treatment was barbaric.

Pack a lunch and do not park in the 2 hour limit municipal lot across the street! Waited in the outer waiting room for 1 hour and 20 minutes, then another 20 minutes in the exam room. Dr. Lupenko never came in and I had to leave to avoid a ticket in the municipal 2 hour limit parking lot. Never saw the doctor and wasted almost 2 hours of my day for nothing. Only positive is that I did get my co-pay refunded.

This Doctor barely Spent enough time in the exam room with me to diagnose my issues. She glances at my problem areas and prescribed medication without a proper exam. As a cancer survivor I worry about abnormal moles, simply glancing down for two seconds and saying oh that's fine is not okay by me or should it be how you wish a doctor to treat any patient.
