Dr Funk did an upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) on me. I told him I didn’t want to change eye shape, just raise some sagging skin. I requested a fat transfer under one eye which had some fat loss to plump it up. Funk said, “I’m going to make you look like you’ve had a good night’s sleep.” I woke up from surgery with severe pain from my left eye down to my left cheek. Funk literally burned away fat under both eyes leaving them deeply sunken and hallowed out. One eyelid was literally burned in half! When I went to my post-op appointment, he admitted that he removed fat from beneath my eyes ( which didn’t have bags), instead of plumping them up. He also admitted that he had burned me during surgery but he thought it would eventually heal just fine on its own. It did not. I am having reconstructive surgery by an oculofacial surgeon to repair the damage Funk did. Etai Funk shouldn’t be touching anyone’s eyes! Run from him!

I approached Dr Funk after being diagnosed with a skin cancer on the tip of my nose. I’d been informed that the Mohs surgical removal process needed to remove the cancerous skin would leave a significant hole. Dr Funk’s office and his skilled work had been recommended to me for post-Mohs cosmetic repair by my dermatologist. Dr Funk and my cancer treatment doctor worked together to schedule surgeries on subsequent days. After meeting with Dr Funk to discuss the array of possible repair techniques, during the surgery, he was able to perform the least invasive option that still accomplished the needed repair. I’m very pleased with the end result. Without Dr Funk’s help with cosmetic surgery, this incident might otherwise have meant a permanent and detrimental alteration in my appearance. As it stands, I haven’t received a single comment or question. My nose looks great and cancer free!

Dr. Funk is so professional. His office is run very well, all the employees are incredibly organized. Despite having many patients he and all those who run the office remember who you are and keep up with you throughout the entire process. I was very nervous about going under for a rhinoplasty and didn't have a perfect idea of what I wanted my results to look like. During my consult Dr. Funk talked me through what would be done and produced an image of what he thought would be best for my facial features. I was very happy with his design and decided to follow through with the procedure because he is the most certified and equipped for rhinoplasties out of all the surgeons I had considered. I had my rhinoplasty in May of 2020 and it was truthfully the easiest most painless process. All of the nurses, the anesthesiologist and Dr. Funk made me feel so comfortable despite having to wait for my surgery alone due to covid. I am so so so pleased with my results and this entire process.

If you're seeking an expert at rhinoplasties and revision rhinoplasties, Dr. Funk is your guy! When I entered his office, I was bringing in a lot of trauma from two botched nasal surgeries after a horrible childhood fracture. Because this was my third surgery, I was terrified that it would leave me with more breathing and aesthetic issues. I am one week post op and I already could not be more thrilled with the results. My nose is no longer over-projected, pinched, or over-rotated. It's perfect! Dr Funk is an artist! I wish I had gone to Dr Funk back then, it would have saved me a lot of money, childhood teasing, and pain. I will not name names, but the two botched surgeries were from Houston-area docs so please do research! And aside from him being an excellent surgeon, he is so compassionate and sweet. I am so excited!!! I just want to cry, I am so happy!

I would not recommend Dr. Funk. I went to him with a collapsed left side. All I wanted him to do was rebuild the left side. In our consultation I told him I did NOT want my nose shorter. He looked me straight in the eye and told me it would't be any shorter. Fast forward to now... He shortened my nose, he lifted the tip, he pinched the tip and left me severely asymmetrical nostrils. (a problem that didn't exist before). And my left side collapsed again! So, not only did he not fix the original problem he created several new ones and now I am left to find a another to fix what he never should have done. When I brought up my concerns his response was: 1. it fits your face better (about the shortened nose) and 2. most people look at you from head on (about the nostrils). I do not recommend Dr. Funk. I would take my collapsed "crooked" nose before he touched it any day over what he left me with. At least I would recognize myself.

I went to Dr Funk after I had frequent sunus infections and constant sinus infections. I had Rhinoplasty, septoplasty, repair of vestibular stenosis and resection of the bilateral inferior turbinates. I could not be more pleased with my results. I have had zero allergy issues since the surgery and love the appearance of my nose since the surgery. I have healed very quickly and there are no signs of the incisions.

By far the biggest mistake of my life was going to Dr. Funk. I went to him because he accepted my insurance. My nose is embarrassing, and I much prefer my old nose. It has been 1.5 years and the scars are still terribly noticeable. Completely disappointed. Please do yourself a favor a see another doctor.

Dr. Funk is a master of his craft! He listened to me carefully, and had a follow-up meeting before my surgery where we made a plan together of what he would. The surgery center experience was impeccable. The recovery was very tolerable - and I *LOVE* the result. From start to finish, I had a great experience - and I love the way my nose looks. I'd recommend him 100%.

Had rhinoplasty with Dr. Funk 3 years ago. I have had ongoing breathing problems and have been told by 2 other plastic surgeons that there has been over-resection and both nasal valves have collapsed. A revision has been recommended by both plastic surgeons. I am very disappointed in this reaction after going to him and explaining that I was diagnosed with collapsed valves as a result of his work. He told me I was breathing too hard! He will not accep his mistakes -no recommendation!
