I recently saw on Tamon Hall show a discussion about menopause. Twenty one years ago I went to two doctors for heavy bleeding menstrual cycles. Diagnose with fibroid tumors both propose a hysterectomy. A friend saw Dr. Ernst Bartsich on Television talking about hysterectomy and fibroid tumors on the uterus. I hurriedly called his office for a third opinion. He is a soft spoken very patient and well versed about what to expect. He explained that it is not necessary to remove healthy organs like the ovaries and the cervix. Healthy organs support other organs. The ovaries control your estrogen levels which is needed to keep you from being menopausal which should happen gradually not immediately. The cervix mucus helps some women to achieve orgasms. Whenever I hear these stories, I’m so grateful that I chose him to perform my hysterectomy he only removed my uterus and at the age of seventy three I’m still sexually active, very little dryness, minor hot flashes. I did not take hormones.
