I’d easily recommend him over any other psychiatrist in Charleston— as well as almost all personal injury attorneys.

No issues with clinic, came in with panic attack and anxiety, doing much better

Everything was outstanding, the people at the front desk were polite, the visit covered everything I was worried about.

Avoid at all costs. He operates with a “once size fits all” mentality. Dr. Cantrell is absolutely horrible. He barely looked up from his papers to look at me. He was extremely dismissive and removed 2 of my medications off my chart without even letting me know. He does not look at each person and decide what’s best for that particular person. You are pretty much a number. I definitely do not recommend Dr.cantrell to anyone who wants to feel like a human, understood and treated based on personal needs, not just a number or a statistic.

I was being followed by the nurse practitioner who left practice and then seen Dr Cantrell. Dr Cantrell, upon meeting him in person, associated my sleep apnea with my possible mental health. He was the first to draw connection. I thank him for his wonderful service.Staff also very helpful in setting up telehealth as well as in person.

STAY AWAY FROM ERIK CANTRELL. He is condescending, extremely unprofessional, and rude. He should not be allowed to treat patients since he is all-knowing and all-seeing and does not trust that you know your body better than he does, although he never met you before. He also asked me to tell him which medication I wanted, rather than being thoughtful about medical history or drug interactions. Should not be certified to give medical advice.

Dr Cantrell is approachable and very genuine. He is down to earth, experienced and caring. He looks at the whole person ( physical and psychological) in order to connect the dots to come up with the right treatment plan for you. He really wants to help and shows true interest and concern. His support staff is also very friendly. My visit was a very good experience for me.

I can't say enough about Dr. Cantrell. This man knows what he is doing. He has changed my life in a way I never thought possible.

Dr. Cantrell explained my son’s diagnosis very clearly, as well as the treatment plan. He prepared us for what to expect with treatment plan, and his explanations were exactly on target. I only wish we had found Dr Cantrell sooner.

Dr. Erik Cantrell is amazing, very professional and definitely knows what he is doing. Dr. Cantrell as well as the staff, very professional and treat you as as guest. Offer complimentary drinks/snacks during your visit. It is like a mental spa that I look forward to going back to my visits. Dr. Cantrell was able to diagnose me correctly my first visit and found I was being mis-diagnosed in the past. Dr. Cantrell after our first consult and questions knew what exactly was going on with me, he was right on. I highly recommend him as your new practitioner if what you are currently doing isn't working for you. I drive a little over an hour for my visits, promise you it is worth the drive.

Dr. Cantrell's office made it easy to make an appointment within a week of me calling as a new patient. The office is clean and peaceful and the young lady who helped me check-in was kind and helpful. Dr. Cantrell was friendly and confident in his practice. He was easy to speak with about my concerns and seems motivated to find something that works for me and my individual needs. In addition, I believe he is someone who will listen and make appropriate changes if something were not working for me. I left Dr. Cantrell’s office feeling satisfied in my visit and hopeful that I will see improvements in my behavioral/mental health. Will be back to review as a patient with more experience there.
