Dr. Erik Bernhoffer, MD

My insurance referred me to a telehealth visit with Dr. Bernhoffer. He was rude, rushed, and the most condescending physician I have ever encountered. It was a sit and listen, give one word answers, did not want to hear explanations or further information appointment. I wanted to write notes because of the speed he was talking, and was literally told to stop taking notes and I could read his notes in the portal. I had to travel back to town see my GP where I was told I had pneumonia! Then he ended the call with a salute, what the heck! Definately a ZERO recommendation.

Telemedicine appointment - I felt interrogated. I did not feel the Dr. was compassionate and did not listen very well.

What should've been a very simple visit of refilling 'the pill' until my gynaecologist visit next month, turned into a lecture on how the other doctor on the telehealth website should not have provided the solution (a solution that actually stopped my bleeding, and provided a great deal of comfort until I could see the gynaecologist), and how he will not provide the prescription and I should go to urgent care. This is ridiculous advice because I'm not in a medical emergency! I stood my ground, and did not let him continue his rant, and I did correct him on what he thought he heard I said. Of course, he did not like being spoken over just as he was speaking over me. I do not believe this practitioner should be offering Telehealth. If he is tired of working with patients, then he should go into a different area of medicine.

Not very interested in helping me…read statistics and seemed bothered when I offered additional information

This was my first experience with telemedicine. I contacted the service because I needed further help with a lingering cough, laryngitis and sore throat after seeing an in person doctor last week. This doctor barely let me explain my concerns and ended the visit before I could share additional information. I felt rushed and unheard. I believe he wanted to move on to more patients quickly for more payments. I did not feel like he was invested in helping me. The decongestant prescribed was a bad choice for me but I never had a chance to give more details. This is the first and last time that I will use telemedicine.

I just did a virtual visit with Dr. Eric Thomas and it is hands-down the worst experience I’ve ever had with a medical professional. It was very similar to a previous review… unfortunately I did not get to pick the provider that contacted me. I have a UTI and have had 50 plus over the last 15 years I get them chronically. I tried to explain this and my symptoms but he cut me off, was rude, wouldn’t let me speak and didn’t give me any antibiotics. Told me that I had to go to a walk-in clinic. I paid for a virtual visit so I didn’t have to do that and I could get the antibiotics sooner and he dismissed me and hung up on me.

I needed to get some antibiotics for a uti, got connected with him and he seemed irritated already. I was trying to explain to him that I have a uti and I have a history with them so I know what my symptoms are but he refused to believe me or let me finish describing what I was experiencing. I was trying to communicate my problem but would get interrupted to be belittled or told I don’t know what I’m talking about. Luckily got my prescription but if you can avoid him, please do. which makes me feel bad for saying but it’s not worth the mental strain.

Dr. Bernhoffer was kind, empathetic and quickly helped me with both of my daughters ailments. Would definitely recommend a televisit with this provider!

I did telehealth with this doctor and actually almost ended the call after the first 20 seconds because of how absolutely rude he was. I have never experienced a doctor act like this. He cut me off within the first 30 seconds as I was trying to give brief history and said “don’t need to hear that” and was completely dismissive and downright disrespectful. Dear god I feel for anyone treated by this man for a serious condition because he absolutely doesn’t care about you and you’ll leave feeling worse than you came. Thanks for the prescription but I’d have rather waited than experience him. Very unhappy man

He’s terrible, arrogant, doesn’t listen, leaves you feeling worse and doesn’t seem to care. Avoid at all costs.

Didn't care to listen to symptoms and waived away patients concerns. Very unprofessional. Avoid.

The doctor was very condescending and rude. He got argumentative when I tried to explain my symptoms and wouldn't let me talk. He didn't listen to my concerns. And the appointment was a waste of time.

He interrupted me every single time I attempted to answer his questions, then he stated the opposite of everything I told him.

Woke up with my right ear completely plugged up from an infection, along with some pretty intense pain. I quickly went online to find an affordable telehealth service that could help me get some antibiotics. I found one that could get me in immediately for $29, I was connected to Dr. Bernhoffer. He was very prompt and to the point while also not skipping over any important information. Our appointment barely lasted more than 2 minutes, and he sent over some antibiotics to my pharmacy. It was THE fastest, helpful, most effective two minutes spent with an individual in the healthcare industry in my entire life, something I wish could happen any time I have a problem. After just over 2 days on Augmentin, I'm already feeling SIGNIFICANTLY better, and I owe it all to Dr. Bernhoffer. THANK YOU SIR, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!!

Waste of time and money - didn’t even give me 3 minutes before he decided my concern was not worth his time - he couldn’t even bother to call in eye drops for me - what a joke!

I chose Dr. Bernhoffer as my online (LiveHealth) doctor; he was very friendly and helpful. Asked plenty of questions to understand my condition. While I really want my cough to just go away, I do appreciate that he didn't just "throw" antibiotics at me and wish me luck. Would definitely recommend him and will use him in the future.

I was connected to this doctor using LiveHealth online to obtian a simple antibiotic for my son's ear infection. Dr refused to give a prescription and didn't care that this is our third child and we know the symptoms of ear infections. I wasn't requesting pain reliever or narcotic. There's no harm in getting a simple antibiotic for ear infections. Dr Bernhoffer was rude and Curt. Seeing this doctor was a waste of time and money. He was not helpful at all.

I highly would recommend Dr. Bernhoffer! He gave great care and recommendations. He has a very kind heart and cares a lot about his patients. He seemed professional and was approachable. I would recommend people to check him out.

This is an incredible doctor. I trust Dr. Bernhoffer above any other physician I am seeing. He has literally saved my life on more than one occasion. It’s not that he doesn’t have a bedside manner he’s got a very unique sense of humor and is actually quite funny. The mans knowledge goes beyond anything I’ve ever seen, no matter what I am faced with he has always been one step ahead of the so called experts that I see. I would recommend this physician over any other.

Dr. Bernhoffer is an excellent doctor. He quickly analyzes the situation and prescribes his treatment. I like that he always calls me by name. He doesn’t unnecessarily refer me to a specialist like so many doctors do. He is a positive doctor noting any improvement I have made in my health.
