Cancer as a disease is frustrating and very trying mentally and physically. A good oncologist makes all the difference in the world. Dr. Eric S. Winer is extremely professional, compassionate, respectful, approachable and honest. I found him to have extensive knowledge in his field and tenacious in his research to find answers for his patients. I valued both his honesty and forthright about my prognosis, treatments, and the risks involved in the treatment. He listened to my concerns and answered all my questions with compassion. He has a wonderful bedside matter and never rushes though an appointment. This always puts me at ease and provides reassurance. My cancer and cancer treatment is a complicated case. Dr. Weiner has gained my trust. I highly recommend Dr. Weiner and Dana Faber for your care.

Ask for another doctor. He is not proactive, has no publications, does not listen and my father would of died in his hands!! My father was diagnosed with CMML, a rare leukemia and this man has no business in treating people who have CMML. Always listen to your guts. He put my father on wait and watch and didn’t bother to explain his lazy treatment. He just said we will treat his symptoms when he gets them. I was shocked that a state of the art facility have such a bad physician. We were about to fly over to MD Anderson even though we live in Boston until we met Dr. Steensma at a leukemia convention. He ran a genetic testing to see my father’s risk and spoke to his other colleagues to see what was the best care for my father. Explained our options and why it would not hurt to just meet with the other specialists. If it weren’t for Dr. Steensma, this Winer would of killed my father. Switch your doctor if you have him. You have the right to switch. NOT all doctors are the same. This one i
