Dr. Thuney started me on a new medication for my diabetes and told me to call the office after 3 weeks on it and he would decide if he is going to increase the dose. My wife and i called and the office staff sent him a message electronically. We waited 3 days with repeated calls to the office and were told 'the doctor has not responded to the message yet'. Finally, my wife had to get confrontational with them and tell them this is poor patient care and it is not acceptable that a staff member or nurse cannot walk across the office to verbally talk to him to get an answer we have been waiting 3 days for. This is when the nurse said she would bring it to the doctor's attention then she hung up on my wife. Within 30 minutes the nurse did call back with instructions for the medication. We should not have had to wait 3 days to get instructions and should not have had to get confrontational to get them. There should be MUCH better verbal communication of staff for better patient outcomes
