Dr. Eric Shepherd, MD

I had a couple of surgeries done by Dr. Shephard a few years back and had he not done them i may have never been able to walk again. I am sorry to be all sentimental but this man really did save my life and I hope he knows his work will always be remembered by those he's been in contact with. He inspires me to this day and where I work for a living. He was always very thorough and also caring whenever I talked to him on top of the fact that he's a genius. Awesome doctor cannot recommend enough.

My husband was involved in a major head-on auto collision in November, 2020. Though the accident happened in SLO county he was taken to SB for treatment. Luckily, Dr. Eric Shepherd handled his care. He had 52 fractures, including a smashed R leg. 20 months later and 4 surgeries later his is finally on the mend. Dr. Shepard spends at least 45 minutes with my husband and I each visit. He has given us his cell phone and has promptly responded the few times we have had to use it. He is very patient and thorough in his responses to our questions and is honest when asked what he recommends next. My husband still cannot find a local orthopedic surgeon who will take on his care (not that Tom would even consider going to another MD). He has had several set backs but each was dealt with expertly by Dr. Shepherd. We would highly recommend him! My husband says he's a miracle worker!

Dr. Shepard was the ER trama doctor on call when I was brought in with a crushed leg/knee and broken bones. I was impressed with his skill and ability to repair my badly damaged leg and knee. During follow up visits he was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns. I grew up in Santa Barbara and everyone I spoke with told me how lucky I was that Dr. Shepard was on call because he's the best. Thanks for saving my leg/knee.

I highly recommend Dr Shepherd to anyone. He took great care of my wife who shattered her wrist after a fall. Not only he has great bedside manners, he was also very open to alternative treatment options for her second operation. He's a great doctor and a great human being.

Dr. Eric Shepherd is one of a kind doctor. I have the up most respect for him and his staff. Dr. Eric takes really good care of his patients, like if you were part of his own family. If you don't understand something about your injury, he does make you feel ignorant and will gladly explain anything especially a surgery. May God Bless Dr. Eric Shepherd and his kind staff. Very thorough examination of facts, xrays, my input. Inspires confidence. Difficult knee and leg surgery had great outcome. Explained in detail and answered questions. Responsive to requests i left with his office staff. Incision scar is fading, staple marks faded.
