There is something very wrong w this physician. If you DARE to speak or ask a question of his almighty, ego-driven self, he comes unglued. I’ve been seeing him w my parents for years & should have insisted they fire him years ago after he sent my father home only to be taken by ambulance within days for emergency surgery for a gangrenous ruptured gallbladder & sepsis. But he had somehow convinced them he actually cared about them & he’s the only GI at their hospital of choice so we got stuck w him again on an emergency visit. The way this doctor spoke to my very elderly father & his complete disrespect & horrible treatment of me as my father’s POA & advocate was reprehensible. The first words out of his mouth to my very sick father were “how much have you been drinking?” My father has NEVER drunk alcohol. He then completely minimized what happened w his previous life-threatening GI event. He was furious when reminded of it, refused to even let me speak! Avoid this one!

Caring and efficient!
I saw Dr. Cottrill for IBS and had had horrible experience with the diagnosis. I have been trying everything over the counter, different medications, and even changed my diet. I saw him and he listened to all of my history and made some suggestions and switched up my medication, WHAT A LIFE SAVER! I have my life back because this man, I recommend him to my friends and even my husband will be seeing him soon!

Some of these comments are very misleading. I have seen Dr. Cottrill for YEARS. I have never had to wait to see Dr. Cottrill if i am early they get me in and get me out. Doctor is very straight forward (i know a lot of people cant take that now days) Procedure days they may get a little behind but that is understandable you never know what is going on in the cases before you. Dr. Cottrill's staff has always been caring and helpful if i have ever had any questions they will go above and beyond. This Dr. has helped me more than others when i was giving up hope he will start from square one and not go off of what another doctor has done he will do his own testing to get down to the bottom of it. 100% recommend this doctor and his staff

Horrible experience with this so called Dr. No compassion whatsoever. Stood there and simply said to my 56 year old husband as he sat on his examining table bawling from severe UC and he is not a complainer, there is nothing more we can do. Down 40 lbs, lost a lot of blood. Never offered iron or suggested changing his meds unless he wanted on a drug that would give him cancer. We found a wonderful Dr w/GSI of Tulsa that got him in remission and is full of compassion. Dr. Cottrill is the poorest excuse for a Dr I’ve ever dealt with.

Excellent Doctor
Dr. Cottrill was brought in to evaluate my difficult case and, I couldn’t be happier. He is extremely thorough & will not treat you until he’s sure what’s wrong with you. He’s a wonderful man with your best interests at heart. He’s extremely knowledgeable in his lane of medicine and I will look no further for a Gastro specialist. I will definitely refer others to him.

I saw him for treatment for ulcer. His only answer about causes is ALCOHOL, NICOTINE, ASPIRIN/NSAIDS, CAFFEINE. When I asked about acidic foods since my primary care doctor suggested I avoid those while the ulcer was healing, Dr Cottrill shouted "Did I saw acidic foods?" Then repeated ALCOHOL, NICOTINE, ASPIRIN, CAFFEINE! He also did not tell me to take Protonix on an empty stomach. I learned that from my third and satisfactory gastroenterologist.

ZERO STARS!Just left this doctors office with my mother, whom he treated at St Francis South. I could tell when he walked in that he didn’t even preview her chart before he came in the room. He did a biopsy in the hospital and we had to wait over 2 weeks , until this appointment, to even get the results. He was suppose to discuss doing a colonoscopy because she was to weak in the hospital to do the procedure but he didn’t bring it up. We are trying to find out if she’s bleeding internally. When I brought up the colonoscopy he acted offended. When I had questions about the endoscopy and medication, he was offended. He was going to send her home with medication and didn’t even address the internal bleeding. He is very arrogant and condescending. I wished I had read the reviews on him before I took my mom to him. I’m glad in retrospect, that he will not be doing a colonoscopy on my mother or be treating her for anything else. The office staff wasn’t very pleasant either.

Dr. Cottrill and his staff is Amazing! He is very straight forward which isn't for everyone that has a soft heart. His nurse Britnie goes above and beyond for ALL of his patients. As all of our family goes to him and we have friends that go to him as well. He answers all of our question that we have. I would recommend him to any of our family and friends with no hesitation!

literally the worst doctor i have ever been too. Lied about sending pre-auth to insurance company about a very expensive drug my insurance won't cover, insurance told me they never received anything from their office. When my wife questioned Brittany @ his office about it, she literally hung up on her. Dr Cottrill was absolutely unwilling to discuss the issue and why his staff would say they sent it when they really didn't. My insurance just called and said they fired me as a patient, LOL what a joke. Not to mention he has the worst bedside manner, no patience, almost seemed irritated when you ask him a question. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR.

I recently had a colonoscopy performed by this Doctor. He ended up aborting the procedure because he perforated my colon. They then performed an emergency colon repair surgery by another doctor. This Doctor ruined my life and never apologized either. I understand he perforated another patients colon recently as well. I’m so outraged and disgusted by this Doctors incompetence.

I underwent my first preventative screening colonoscopy with Eric Cottrill. Following the procedure, I experienced abdominal pain and chills. I contacted my PCP, whose office was being staffed by a trauma nurse, who told me to get to an Emergency Room. I went to St. Francis, where it was discovered that my colon had been perforated during the procedure and had to have emergency surgery . I now have to live with pain.

I have had Dr. Cottrill as my gastroenterologist for about 6 years. My wife also sees him. He is a kind, very experienced and capable doctor who takes time and answers all questions. His ability in managing health needs is excellent and is very highly experienced in doing the procedures he deems necessary. From our multiple appointments and procedures with Dr. Cottrill we have never found him to be short tempered, or unwilling to do his best to resolve health concerns. I highly recommend him.

I was referred to him for a colonoscopy and at this point have just seen him for a consult. He spent more than enough time with me discussing his approach to the procedure and why I need to have a colonoscopy. He answered all of my questions and I believe he will do a through examination. He is a professional, he is the expert and I am coming to him for his expert opinion. His summary analysis of my colonoscopy is what I am expecting.

I would highly recommend Dr. Cottrill. I was referred to him for a colonoscopy and scope after I had some concerns and had not been to a doctor in many years. He was so kind when I met with him at his office and also when I went for the procedures. I agree with another review that said his bedside manner is the BEST! I had so much anxiety about having these procedures, but he was so nice and explained everything so clearly. I would not hesitate to recommend him.
