This "doctor" vehemently refuted previously diagnosed conditions and diseases by IU Health specialists while I was in hospital, and absolutely refused to treat any of those conditions while I was in hospital. We had several extreme disagreements in his plan of care for me while at times he was argumentative to outright hostile toward me for pointing out previously diagnosed conditions he was providing for was an inadequate level of care and negligence. He took it upon himself to modify and change entirely in several instances the medications specialists had prescribed previously, in other instances stopping medication entirely for some conditions. The changes Bannec made caused permanent damage to several organs.

I hesitate to refer to this man as a physician, and cannot, in good conscience, recommend him. He accused me of being an alcoholic when my liver enzymes were out of whack, and refused to believe that I do not drink alcohol, because of my medication. Told me my numbers looked like what he would see in an alcoholic on a Saturday night in the ER! I responded that my receiving good medical care depends on my being honest with my doctor. He laughed, and called me a liar. I left immediately, found a new physician, and learned that my medication levels were toxic, and had damaged my liver and kidneys. I had severely sprained my ankle, and he refused to even look at it, when I voiced my concern. It required surgery to heal properly. He is rude, arrogant, extremely condescending, and seems threatened by informed, intelligent patients. I would advise asking for a new doctor immediately if he walks into your hospital room, and would never refer anyone to his office!

I recently moved to Bloomington from New York. I was referred to Dr. Bannec and couldn't be more pleased. During my first visit I found him to be professional yet warm. Subsequent visits have been top notch. My husband is in the medical field and is very selective about his health care. He feels Dr. Bannec is very knowledgeable and likes him. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to a relative or friend.

Hello! I don't think one could find a doctor that is more unprofessional and as rude as Dr. Bannec is. The time he spent with me during todays visit was about 20 seconds. I was in the middle of describing my health concerns and he led me out to the front desk with many unanswered questions and concerns.
