Dr. Albakri is in my opinion the best Neurologist
He and his staff are very comprehensive in everything they do. His operation runs as a well oiled machine.

Waited over 2 hours in the waiting room before I gave up. In that time no one from his staff offered an explanation or apology for the delay.

My experience with Dr Albakri at the Florida Neurovascular Institute has been nothing short of a complete nightmare. His staff is completely uneducated, the wait times are also ridiculous. This doctor is rude, talks down to me and doesn't address any of my concerns without cutting me off mid conversation. I was instructed to monitor my blood pressure and take 2 new medications when I have never had an issue with my blood pressure before. I tried to explain that I have extreme anxiety and my blood pressure is usually higher during certain visits to which his reply was 'OK, so you're blaming your blood pressure on us??' Anyone that suffers with anxiety knows that this does happen. He also never even inquired about the 2 weeks I spent recording my blood pressure levels. He has no regards to my previous care and never even tried to retrieve my medical records from previous doctors. I took it upon myself to do so just so I could hand them copies. I have never been treated so badly by a doct

Dr. Albakri talked down to me. At one point during my initial visit he asked me if I had even graduated high school and seemed shocked that I have a college degree. During my follow up visit his PA started talking about several medications she wanted to put me on. I don't like taking any medication unless I have to do so. When I did not want the medications the PA blurted out that she was not going to put me on controlled substances, which I was perplexed by since I was saying I did not want to take anything. Then she looked at me and said , "you seem confused," in a condescending tone. Yes, I was confused about her thought process and odd exclamation. I felt belittled by both Dr. Albakri and his PA. I won't be going back.

Worth the Waiting
Dr. Albakri takes the time to speak with you and does not speak down to you when explaining my medical condition. His Nurse Practitioners have also been very nice and supportive. Yes, you do have long waits but in my opinion it's worth it because he also takes his time with me.

Great DR
The Dr spent more than an hour with me to review my case. He sent for for multiple tests and identified several problem areas that I am able to work on to help correct. Most of the corrections he help me with were without medication.

Dr Albakri was totally rude and had a terrible bedside manner. As is the case with MOST male neurologists. I went to see him for a hospital follow up for a grand mal seizure that was nearly fatal, and because I didn't have my medical records with me to PROVE that was what had happened, he seemed to not believe me. I signed a medical release form from his office so that they might obtain my medical records from where I had been hospitalized at, and they didn't bother to do so before my appointment. He asked me if I had the medical records from 30 years ago from my childhood seizures. No. I did not. He acted as if I was lying about that. When he saw that I had been on anxiety meds, he treated me with contempt. As if I was some sort of crazy person. People with seizures deserve compassion not contempt. They are scared and they are coming to you for help. It is totally normal for a person with epilepsy to have anxiety. I have since been diagnosed with epilepsy. Stay away!

I love Dr. Albakri! I was misdiagnosed in another state. I thank my lucky stars that I chose him because he specializes in strokes and I was diagnosed with mini strokes/TIA. He literally saved me from something far worse and I will forever be grateful to him. I think is bedside manner is great and he has always answered my questions and concerns, My only complaint is his staff can sometime be lacking. One NP in is office a little cocky and sometimes getting a script filled is a pain. I learned to avoid that by staying on top of meds and asking for refills when I go in. I now drive from Pinellas county to go see him because I think is that good. I'm sorry if other people have had bad experiences with him, but not this girl!

I was miss diagnosed!!! The Doctor never returned multiple phone calls. His office is a disgrace to the medical profession. I have been trying for several months to get a copy of my Fl Mylogram. They have sent me copies of my EMG and other worthless. Today I was told they don't have a copy in the office and neither does Tampa General. reports Since my last visit, my left arm has become paralyzed and my right is fading fast. I have lost over 25 pounds of muscle. I hope this guy likes law suites!

We were referred to Dr. Albakri because of my husband's memory loss issues. Dr Albakri read the MRI and said that my husband did not have Alzheimer's disease and that he had had strokes. Dr. Albakri prescribed medication and therapy to treat strokes. Dr. Albakri was wrong. His misdiagnosis, and the medications prescribed, prevented my husband from getting into an Alzheimer's clinical trial in a timely manner. He did not take responsibility for his mistake. His mistakes ruin lives.

Dr.Albakri Does not like to be Questioned. If you do not agree with what he says your time is shortened and he just wants to reschedule you for another time for another test. There is an average 45 min wait just to be brought back to exam rooms then another 30 min waiting on him.Last visit I left office very frustrated and he did not really seem to care.
