Greatful
We have been so blessed to find Dr. O'Kenye. With multiple health issues, and a handfull of specialist, he has been extremely patient and helpful addressing all of our concerns. Finding a doctor that takes time and doesn't make you feel rushed is hard to come by. He is what a doctor should be.

He saved My Life
Dr. Okenye saw me for a pain in my abdomen. He sent me for an X-Ray and found a mass on my bladder. He immediately referred me to the Urology Clinic and I had surgery to remove the mass which turned out to be a fast growing cancer. Had he not paid such close attention to the X-Ray it could have gone unnoticed. I am grateful that he is as conscientious and thorough as he is. He is a kind, soft spoken gentle doctor who is dedicated to doing a good job. I feel very fortunate to have him in my life.

A Good Doctor
I have been to Dr. Okenye twice now and I really like him. My medical history is very complicated and he listens to my concerns and seems very knowledgeable. I don't feel rushed which is rare in a doctor's office.

Awful PCP. Body Shames patients
I went in for a new patient visit since my previous provider had left evergreen. I needed a new referral to an Orthopedic office for my upcoming carpal tunnel surgery. When going over my medical history I mentioned I use one peak medical. He stated he hates them, they do unsafe medicine, and it’s a waste of money. I told him they have helped me with a lot of my health issues and helped diagnose my insulin resistance and have figured out I have a fatty liver and enlarged spleen. I stated that I am currently seeing a GI specialist for it and he asked why? I tried to explain further but he cut me off saying they do stupid referrals that aren't needed. He then went on to look at my old bloodwork from over a year ago stating my triglycerides were high and asked me what my weight is? I said I am 250lbs. He then stated that I am morbidly obese and need gastric bypass because I will never lose weight on my own. He is the rudest man I've ever met.

Disappointed
Saw Dr Okenye for a sudden hearing loss/ear infection. I became very distressed when he told me my hearing loss was likely permanent and he said “it was no big deal” to lose my hearing. I told him 4-5 times during the visit that I couldn’t understand what he was saying but he didn’t try to speak louder or communicate with me better. I had very little trouble communicating with his PA. Finally he told me I needed annual labs done and where to go for them etc. When I went to get those tests done, I found out he had forgotten to order them, so I’ll have to make another trip. But the biggest thing was the lack of empathy or concern for my hearing loss.

Breath of fresh air
Dr. Okenye is a breath of fresh air for me. I finally have a doctor who isn’t afraid to deal with my complicated health history and didn’t just label me as a difficult case and push me aside. He’s kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He addresses all of my concerns at my visits and I’ve been to him twice and neither time I felt rushed. Very professional. Easy to talk to. Highly recommend!
