Dismissive and rude.
Dr Liao was completely dismissive of me from the moment I walked in her office. It’s like she read my chart, felt that I didn’t need to be there, and didn’t care to treat me in any way. When I was visibly upset, she made a few suggestions that were mostly unhelpful, mentioned seeing another type of doctor but didn’t give me any referrals. Women not helping other women is the worst. I would never see her again nor would I ever refer anyone to see her.. if you want a healthcare provider that is understanding, listens and helps, she is not the one.

AVOID Dr. Liao and seek a different doctor instead!!! I recently saw Dr. Liao and upon looking at my thyroid ultrasound, she immediately diagnosed me with an autoimmune disease and told me there is absolutely nothing I can do about it and in fact said it will very possibly get worse if I ever choose to get pregnant!!!! I'm 23 and left her office scared and with no hope or any idea of what to do or what lifestyle/dietary changes I could possibly make. Thankfully I trusted my gut and went for a second opinion elsewhere and found out that you can absolutely NOT diagnose someone with Hashimoto without doing an antibody blood test. How could she diagnose someone with something without doing the required blood work?!!!! That's absolutely unheard of. After seeking a second opinion and doing the required bloodwork, my antibody test came back NEGATIVE. I do not have an autoimmune disease! Dr. Liao is all for pushing meds and over-diagnosing. Do not trust her and seek a different doctor.

Dr. Liao today is intelligent, patient and spends plenty of time with you. She reviews your case asking constant questions. She really wants to get you better. She also gives you plenty of time to ask your own questions. She even gave me her email to communicate directly with her. Dr Liao is also extremely nice.

I made the mistake of visiting Dr. Liao several years ago. She was very dismissive of my concerns, and even when she pointed out one potential problem that was discovered, she didn't want to do anything about it. Because of her do-nothing attitude, I've referred to her to others as "Dr. Dolittle".

I had looked forward to this appointment for months, as I have an undiagnosed thyroid problem that runs in the family and has been decreasing my quality of life for some time. Unfortunately, it appears I came to the wrong place. Dr. Liao was immediately dismissive of me, and was belittling enough to casually suggest my multitude of physical health problems were merely anxiety. After stating this, she did not offer any further suggestions or referrals to a professional who COULD help me.
