Dr. Emeka Nwodim, MD

October of 2019 I fell directly onto my left knee breaking my kneecap in half and damaging some bones underneath. In the ER, I was referred to Dr. Nwodim for surgery. Recovery was very difficult and long because of the trauma and subsequent surgery. The brace that encapsulated the knee fitted my entire leg. For the first 30 days I was in a wheelchair not allowed to stand on it. Then the arduous recovery had him seeing me every month for adjustments to the brace. Dr. Nwodim was with me all the way through. He was transparent about surgery and subsequent recovery process. I liked his attitude and he treated me with respect. He is a top notch orthopedic doctor and surgeon!

Although I was referred by a hospital, this doctor solely examined and focused on treatment for one injury. Completely ignored other injuries for weeks. Had to get a second opinion to address prolonged recovery. Not to mention the fact that the patient portal is a joke. You actually have to submit a records release form to request medical records through the portal. Truly unbelievable that it took this doctor 2 months to make a diagnosis. REALLY, REALLY sick of clinicians with poor care and administrative management.

I was brought into the BWMC ER with a broken right femur due to a fall at my home. After resolving issues with my taking warfarin, Dr. Nwodim put in a hemi titanium replacement for the broken area. Some two weeks after surgery and rehab at Kernan, I am at home and progressing very well. He gave me all the information before and after surgery that I needed. I couldn't have had anyone better!!

Dr Nwodim was wonderful. We came into the ER at AAMC and he was the surgeon on call. He explained that he prefers a less invasive approach whenever possible but that due to the nature of the injury surgery was recommended. He answered all questions calmly and completely, and did a wonderful job updating the family throughout the back surgery and recovery. When the hospital wasn't doing the recommended PT during recovery, he personally got involved. At the rehab center after the surgery, every nurse commented on how perfect the incision and Staples looked. Overall great experience!

I was involved in a car accident and he just chalked it all up as "soft tissue" issues instead of paying attention to what I was telling him. THEN his office tried to charge me for them to fill out my PIP form which enables THEM to get paid. I had had it at that point. Apparently he charges you for anything he ever fills out for you. Beware of this doctor and practice. They care more about money than patients.
