Dr. Elvia Villarreal, MD

Dr. V use to care about her elderly patients but the last 2 years she was very disrespectful and negligent with my 88 year old mother. She did not address my mother directly in her appointments. She pawned my mother off to the Physician Assistant rather than meet with my mother. She suggested my mother go into hospice and not to the hospital in the final years. I would not give her any stars...only negative ratings. My mother died from an infection which was not treated aggresively by this office.

Dr. Villarreal is Rude. Condensing. Unprofessional and has the worst disposition for patient care. Lack or miscommunication between interoffice and clinical staff. For 8 days she resisted giving a referral to our preferred wound specialists. Blatant resistance. While my mother suffered in excruciating pain with leg ulcers the size of a half dollar. Her staff gave various excuses for the blatant resistance. (Meetings, Leaving Early, Seminar) and the approved referral was within the WellMed network to the prior physician that we wanted to leave. My proactive approach facilitated getting our referrals to our wound specialist. At our first they ordered immediate home wound care with top RN's. Research your doctors or call your insurance for a direct referral. Stay away from this physician.

Does not have any form of bed side manner. A rude not very happy person. It rolls down hill as Staff is short and Curt with patients. Accepts a lot of HMO and high volume of traffic for a high turnover practice so packed office long waits, way out appointment dates. One of very few internists that needs to accept HM0's to be able to retain patients. Sort of no other choice. Most of her patients would change if they could and so would I!
