After showing him my scopes, and various labs and stool studies dating back ten years confirming Crohn’s disease in the ileum, duodenum, colon, and rectum, he asked my mother if I had an eating disorder.

Very unprofessional
Approximately 8 weeks ago I made an appointment for Dr Ellis. I waited patiently for my appointment. The morning of the appointment, I called just to make sure everything was in good order. I was told my appointment had been cancelled and I had no appointment after waiting 2 months. I received no calls and no emails alerting me of this. This is poor business and extremely unprofessional. I put my health on hold for 2 months because I thought I had an appointment. DO BETTER!

Great experience
I have zero complaints about Dr. Ellis and all the nursing staff. My procedures have always gone very well and wonderful experience. I must agree that the office staff needs a little more attention. Calls are not returned and even when you leave a message and you are told someone will get back to you, after a week you need to call them back. An improvement in this area is much needed.

HORRIBLE & SHAMEFUL EXPERIENCE
I have a severe and debilitating case of GERD, which has developed into something much more severe. I was told by my pulmonologist that I must go to a gastroenterologist and get my issue addressed. After much research, i found Dr. Eliot and made an online appointment. I called up a few days later to confirm the appointment and office location and was told very abruptly by the staff that my appointment was cancelled. When I asked why, they told me that almost 7 years ago, yes, 7 years ago, I had seen another doctor from the Gastro Health Group when I lived in Miami.I explained that I no longer live in Miami, and I am sick and desperately need to see a doctor. She coldly and abruptly told me it didn't matter!!! He will not see me because I am a 'transfer' from another Dr. in the group!SHAME on him and SHAME on his staff!!!

Disappointed & Sick – Aug 04, 2024

Brilliant and Kind
Yesterday Dr. Ellis performed two procedures on me; an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I was scared due to the procedure and results. I was fortunate to have only 3 small intestinal polyps and a hiatal hernia. From beginning to completion, it was a very easy experience. Dr. Ellis and his nurses are wonderful. They put me at ease and we even had some laughs along the way. After it was over, Dr. Ellis explained everything. He explains things in such a manner that you don’t have to be a doctor to understand what he said. His nurse Vicky was kind and excellent. She gave me a bottle of ginger ale, and told me what to expect, and what not to do when I got home.As a final note, I didn’t have a driver to take me to the procedure and bring me back home. His office recommended Chris Cucci from AAA Limo Service. He is a fantastic driver, with a delightful personality. If you are searching for a superb gastroenterologist and top notch staff, look no further.

Horrible Office
While Dr Ellis and Jessica are great, the office staff is awful. They don't respond, they don't give you procedure instructions and then they cancel the endoscopy you've had scheduled for months - the day before the procedure - because you've been taking nsaids for your fibromyalgia and didn't know you weren't supposed to. The office manager even stated that the staff doesn't respond because Dr Ellis requires their FULL ATTENTION AT ALL TIMES and that they have PROOF they sent the procedure instructions - but yet they can't provide me the proof...... Not that they care but they've lost a patient.

Good until you get sick
Office unorganized Clearance go ahead not forwarded to hospital Morning procedure turned into an all day affair Didn’t complete all the procedures I was expecting to have and decided to cancel last minute Opted for a CT scan instead of Endoscopy. CT scan cannot show pre-disorder like Endoscopy. Only will approve or show a Mass Very sad and disappointed that I’m still sick with stomach pain and diarrhea after the colonoscopy. Did not return phone call so where do I go next?

Dr. Ellis is intelligent and has a great bedside manor. I was so lucky to get him. He was educated at an Ivy league school and has extensive internships and residency in Northern schools and Hospitals. I am from Penna. and my daughter is a Philadelphia area educated doctor too. They have excellent training! Thank you Dr. Ellis. 7/22/21. I would recommend him highly!!!!!!!

MY husband has been trying to get through the phones as was I without success, I had read the reviews and his ent recommended him highly. I saw that he has online appointment scheduling,Ibooked one and got confirmation of it. When we arrived at the appointment, the receptionist said he did not have an appointment. I showed her the text confirmation and she said "oh online, that doesn't mean he has a an appointment. "she blamed the third party provider of the online scheduling and didn't apologize or offer an appointment with someone else that day or attempt to get him seen. said you could call to make an appointment. but he has nothing for another week and won't be able to do the procedure required til July. We are snowbirds. NO COMPASSION. no checking with the MD. We left very upset after a long drive to get there ,I have been a providerfor 40 years and with online appointment itistheproviders responsibility to provide the online site with correct info.No luck hereBEWARE.

unhappy. never got to see doc – May 08, 2021

After a colonoscopy and prescribing medicines for me, this office has not once responded to my numerous phone calls about the meds and my issues with acid reflux. I left voice mails and not a single call back. Borders on medical malpractice. Heck, the VA is more responsive (and the VA sucks). Look elsewhere for a Gastro doc.

Dr. Ellis has been arrogant, condescending, and “stand-offish” the last couple of times I have come to see him. Perhaps he has enough patients and wants to get rid of a few....I’m not sure, but I do know the feelings I’ve left with after my last 2-3 visits. I believe there are other doctors who are willing to exercise a bit more cultural humility and I will be looking for one of them. Dr. Ellis, I do hope that no one ever treats your wife the way you have treated me.

Yes …..Dr. Ellis is a very good and highly rated doctor. My problem is that I am an existing patient with a problem. One of my other doctors suggested that I see Dr. Ellis as soon as possible. That was three days ago. I have been calling and leaving messages and have been unable to schedule an appointment. What good is a highly rated doctor if his staff is too busy to schedule an appointment.
