I was told to consider having children. What?
I had the misfortune of having had Dr. Arons as my doctor for too many years. As someone who wasn't the best at self-advocacy and was too busy to switch doctors, I didn't realize I deserved better. Among the ailments that I experienced: Undiagnosed SIBO: He suggested I take psyllium husk to address my stomach issues; after years of suffering, I insisted on a referral and was properly diagnosed as having SIBO. I had low B12 (under 300) for many years; after I noticed that my husband was able to get shots from his doctor, I insisted that I get the same. I suspect my neurological issues now (at 46) originated from having this man as my doctor in my 20s. Then there was that time he told me I should consider having children. I'm not sure why he felt it was appropriate to suggest this. If you are a woman of childbearing age, or have any gastrointestinal issues or vitamin deficiencies, run (don’t walk) from this doctor.

I found a friendly, professional atmosphere in the office staff. I was on time for my first appointment and so was the doctor. I was impressed by his style and listening ability. His experience and competence was obvious. This is a doctor`who works with you and respects your ideas about your health. He is the physician of some very discerning friends of mine and I can see why he was recommended so highly. I am happy to have found him.

I would give no stars if possible. I was referred to Dr. Arons by United Healthcare as a primary care provider. The provided me with his phone number, which I called. Similar to others, I was on hold nearly interminably until my call was shunted to an answering system. I was instructed to leave my name and number along with the reason for the call. I did so, but never got a return phone call, nor did I get one the following day, when I tried again. This is not the kind of patient care I want.

I've been a patient of Dr. Arons for more than 18 years, but over the years things have gone down hill, especially in the past 3 years. Example: * I called to make an appointment, and after 3 minutes on hold I am FORCED to leave a message (you cannot choose to continue waiting) * I left a message and no one called back * When I call back and press the button for Doctors only (hoping not to be forced to leave another message), I wait more than 24 minutes on hold.

The office is disorganized to the point of total incompetence. Phone messaging system is often out of order, refilling prescriptions is a nightmare. And no one there seems able to respond to the pharmacy or comunicate with insurance companies. More than annoying, the sloppiness and lack of concern has caused me to run out of essential meds more than a few times. The one positive: they are convenient to my house, about a block away. But not adequate- I moved to a competent, attentive doc today.
