Dr. Ellie Coonrod, DO

I absolutely LOVED my experience with Dr. Knotts (Coonrod)! She made me feel so empowered and like a total badass when I was in labor. I look back at my experience at Banner FC and could not speak more highly of it. Giving birth to my son was one of the greatest accomplishments of my life and I felt lucky to have her coaching me through it. She is highly knowledgeable, confident and is a phenomenal OB. 10/10 recommend! (ps- if you need to get labor started, have her strip your membranes.... it works when she does it (!!!) AND she has a streak going!) ;)

Dr. Coonrod is awesome!!!! She takes the time to listen and explains all options for care in detail. I feel I can ask any question and she will give me an honest answer. I appreciate her help in getting the best treatment for my health and well being. I have white coat syndrome and she made me feel comfortable and overcome that feeling. I know I am getting the best care possible by having Dr. Coonrod as my physician.

Every appointment looks like she hate to deal with people. She is rude and wait for the patient make questions, otherwise she would not talk...

I do not recommend this doctor to anyone. She is NOT personable, she made me feel stupid when I would ask questions. The only times she was nice to me is when my husband was present with me during my prenatal care. She does not explain things. Every time I met with her, I would leave with this bad unhappy feelings. In the other hand I highly recommend Dr Saskia Thompson instead , because she was the total opposite. Dr Thompson, made me feel like a person and I matter.

Dr. Coonrod is awesome! She was responsible for my prenatal care and delivered my baby boy in October 2017. During each appointment, she was very thorough in answering questions and providing detailed explanations regarding my medical conditions and procedures. She recently helped me obtain a detailed blood work panel, as I don't have a primary care physician. I sincerely appreciate her help, care, attention to detail, and commitment to her patients' well-being.

Dr. Coonrod was extremely personable, knowledgeable and thorough and made sure all of my questions were answered. Additionally, her demeanor is professional, courteous, and also uses appropriate humor to assist patients with relaxing. Overall, an excellent experience. (Purpose of visit was to evaluate endometrial thickening, and subsequent follow-up appointment for an endometrial biopsy.

I gave Dr. Coonrod a six week trial before switching. I had a lot of uneasiness when I was under her care. During my time I felt like a lab-rat as she ran every test under the sun (the current OBGYN I'm with doesn't find all the tests necessary) and the 3-4 minutes of Dr. Coonrod's time I received each week was dismal. She is friendly, but would always go into a clinical/technical spiel and had a hard time connecting as a person, very distant, short and dismissive.
