A member of my family has been a patient of Dr. Simon for more than ten years. When mid coast became Maine Health, my family member was dropped from her patient list, unbeknownst to the family member. The family member had a cardiac event, was hospitalized at Maine Med and the Drs there made arrangements for a follow up visit with Dr. Simon within two weeks of discharge. Dr. Simon’s office called, said that they were cancelling the appointment that the Maine Med cardiologists had made and that they Had no available appointment for six weeks after that. They also said that the family member was no longer on their patient list. Not impressed with the lack of compassion and flexibility given the severity of my family member’s cardiac issues.
