Dr. Elizabeth Ruszak, DO

I really appreciate Dr. Ruszack-- she has a great understanding of the fact that most patients are only in the office because they have to be. When I am in for a routine visit she is timely and helpful. When I am in for a problem visit she offers solutions and gives really good insight into the pros and cons of different treatments.She is also willing to refer her patients to Doctors outside of the LGH system if she thinks that is where her patients will get the best care. I'm so glad she is in my care team.

Dr. R is such a boss, i wouldnt have wanted anyone else watching over my care and my baby during my pregnancy.She has no fear in saying her opinion or keeping someone in line with the hospital staff. she was the only doctor at the office that was super on top of my thyriod levels during pregancy and after. My c section incision looks and feels amazing, skin color tint to it. I wouldnt say shes a hugger, warm or very chatty doctor, but when i went in to tlak about PP issues i was suprised how much she wanted to listen to me. She handles lots of things with a joke or dry humor and i accpreicated that- it helped me realize that somethings werent so big of a deal or need to panic

I have never spent less time with a doctor. At my 20 week check up I saw her for less than 5 minutes- she checks the baby’s heart beat and then she’s out. She also told us the baby’s gender as soon as she walked into the room and then said “oops I should have checked your chart to see if you were keeping that a surprise.” She doesn’t have anything to say about symptoms, diet, exercise, anything. Everything I know about pregnancy I looked up on my own. If I ask her anything she says “I don’t know anything about that” or tells me to go to my PCP! I have been in severe pain since the beginning of my pregnancy and she won’t even give me a recommendation for any solution. I had to find a PT ON MY OWN. Her response is “I don’t know what’s wrong ask your PCP”. How is this woman even a doctor! I’m not scheduling any further appointments with her. I’m tired of this DIY pregnancy

I normally hate and dread going to any doctor’s office, but I make an exception for Dr. Ruszak. I actually look forward to my appointments with her. She is very honest, open, and thorough, which is exactly what a doctor should be. I was lucky enough to have her deliver both of my children and wouldn’t want it any other way. Any complications that came up she would tell me about immediately and explain everything to make sure I completely understood what was going on and what options I had moving forward. She was so supportive and truly made me feel like she really cared about me as a patient and as a person which was huge for me. She even continued to check up on me post-partum which I wasn’t expecting but it just goes to show you how much she truly cares. She has great bedside manner and is very professional. I will follow her wherever she goes. I truly wish she could be the only doctor I ever had to see!

Dr. Ruszack is a 10/10. She listens to whatever issues I may be experiencing and, more importantly, believes what I have to say about my body. If I ever have a concern, she takes the time to investigate it and address it. Also, she's efficient in her exams and doesn't ever make me feel uncomfortable (which I think is pretty high praise for an OBGYN).

Having Dr. Ruszak perform a C-section on me was the worst experience of my life. My uterus was ripped during the csection. Arteries were left bleeding. After two postpartum hemorrhages, I was sent back to the OR. While under general anesthesia, she called gynecology/oncology in to hysterectomy me against my wishes. My husband pushed back. Gynecology oncology had to tie off a major artery in two spots to stop the bleeding from her surgical trauma. I was then transported to the ICU. While in the ICU, she wouldn’t tell me what happened. Later, she dismissed my complaints of pain stating that the same incision was used for both operations.

I had a traumatic birth experience with Dr. Ruszak. She wouldn’t even honestly admit to me what happened during the surgery or the surgery to repair the damage.

She listened so well and actually attended to a delivery tear that the delivering Dr botched. She’s calm, matter of fact, and relatable!

Dr. Ruszak is great, she is very real with you and treats you as an equal when it comes to your health decisions and treatment plans. She can talk a little quickly but I do not feel that she is rushing me and I can ask her lots of questions and she gives great answers. I started seeing Dr. Ruszak for ovarian cysts and will stay with her for all of my care from now on. Highly recommend.

Knows what she is doing. Direct and to the point. Slightly funny but most importantly an amazing doctor.

Dr. Ruszak is seriously my favorite doctor. I actually look forward to my appointments with her and I hate going to doctors offices. She takes her time, explains everything thoroughly, and truly makes me feel like she cares which is hard to find today. I recommend her to every person I know!

Dr. Ruszak delivered my second child and I could not have been happier. I never waited more than 10 minutes at the office & she always made me feel at ease, even through a c-section and recovery.

Dr. Ruszak was the first doctor we saw at her OB GYN practice, and after our first appointment my husband and I knew we wanted her as our Special. During each visit she gave us ample time to ask our questions, providing detailed answers while keeping the atmosphere lighthearted. She was thorough in her exams and called for follow up ultrasounds to be conservative whenever there was a potential concern with the size of my belly, all while remaining optimistic. Our delivery went smoothly!

After waiting over 35 minutes to be seen, she spent 5 minutes with me, exam included. Poor bedside manners. She did not show any remorse when telling me my ultrasound that morning showed I grew another cyst on my opposite ovary. Poor bedside manners. Her solution to my 15 pound weight gain was gas, a UTI, or being inactive. Openly admitted since she didn't do my surgery in May, she couldn't help solve my problem now. When I asked for another diagnostic test, she said it wouldn't do anything.

(part 2) She made my husband feel comfortable at the appt, even though they could have been awkward. We had our jokes, but Elizabeth is also extremely knowledgeable, & very "to the point" when there is something she is concerned about. My delivery was wonderful, with her encouraging me through pushes. She also made the extra effort to visit me several times every day when I was in recovery, & letting me know that if I needed anything she was never far away. We can't wait for the next little one!

I am expecting my fourth little one in a few weeks and during my first appointment of the pregnancy saw Dr. Ruszak. I knew immediately that she was the one I wanted to deliver my baby. Dr. Ruszak is a fantastic doctor and excels with communication. She is extremely knowledgable and has addressed all of my questions and concerns completely. I would highly recommend Dr. Ruszak.

Dr. Ruszak delivered my little one via c section on May 12th. She was very professional and kept things lighthearted as I had requested. She talked me through the procedure and even stopped for a few minutes putting me back together at my request due to nausea and trouble breathing. She even visited me twice in the hospital afterwards as a courtesy to see how I was holding up. If my second child requires a C, she will be the one doing it, definitely.

After a change in insurance, I needed a new GYN. I went to Dr. Ruszak for pelvic pain. She only spent about five minutes with me (exam included), had very poor bedside manner, and was completely dismissive of my concerns. She did not ask one single question about my pain (frequency, duration, intensity, location). The only question she asked was why I was left my previous doctor. After that experience, I do not have the confidence to trust my health in her hands. Not recommended.
