Dr. Elaine Lim, MD

Absolutely terrible experience with Dr. Lim and the Capital Women’s Care office. Very shocking to me since she had great reviews. Do not recommend this office, would give 0 stars if I could. Will be finding a new doctor for my next try, and hopefully this will prevent others from having the same experience. I guess if your pregnancy turns into a miscarriage they don’t care about your wellbeing. After several ultrasounds it was confirmed I had a pregnancy loss. This is when all communication ended. I couldn’t reach anyone at the office had to leave voicemails everyday for a week to get the correct medication prescribed so I could pass the miscarriage at home which was really frustrating and stressful for someone going through a trauma. The doctor just sent over the meds with no follow up call, no information on expectations or following up if it didn’t work and I needed surgery, nor did anyone ever check on me after. Such a frustrating and traumatic experience, beware of this doctor.

This is my first pregnancy and it was my first prenatal appointment and Dr Elaine Lim did not make me & my husband feel educated or informed on what was going on. She first stated that I needed to get blood work and a Pap smear done then she used the Doppler to find the heartbeat but could not locate it so quickly took the Doppler off of my belly and suggested that we go down the street to a sonogram place. This frightened us causing us to think something was wrong when it in fact was not and it is normal to not be able to locate the fetal as it is so small. Also, if i am required to do a Pap smear and blood work why weren’t those things done? Just shows me how much she doesn’t care. I will not be returning and be warning all of my friends, family and followers of this doctor.

Dr Lim delivered my second baby and was incredible throughout my entire pregnancy. Even though it was my second pregnancy, I still had a lot of questions and Dr Lim would take the time to answer every single one. I never felt rushed or as if my questions were silly. My delivery was excellent and I credit that Dr Lim being so supportive. I had all the information I needed so I felt calm and ready when I was in labor. We elected to do an induction based on size, and Dr Lim discussed the pros and cons but never pressured me one way or another. After my husband and I decided to do the induction, she took the time to explain the whole process to us as well as risks and how we’d address any potential complications. Luckily we had none and everything went as smoothly as it could. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Lim and cannot recommend her enough!

My appointment began on time and I never felt rushed as Dr. Lim patiently addressed all of my concerns. I recommend Dr. Lim to anyone seeking a knowledgeable practioner with an excellent bedside manner who truly cares about your health and well being.

During first visit Dr. Lim was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and took her time. She was kind very nice.

Outstanding. Very caring and kind. She takes time to explain everything you need to know and answers all your questions very patiently. Her demeanor is very friendly. I won't go to another OBGYN ever.

Dr. Lim delivered all three of my children. She is a terrific doctor and always makes you feel comfortable.
