Dr. Ekta Shah, MD

Dr. Shah was kind and caring during the appointment and listened to our concerns. She told us the skin test was very accurate to determine allergies. The nurse did not administer the skin test correctly and even the histamine did not react. Another nurse came in about halfway through the skin test and redid just the histamine, which reacted right away. I have no idea why they didn't redo the entire skin test when they saw the histamine didn't react with the first try. The doctor advised us that my daughter had no allergies. I challenged this since she has severe reactions to dogs and some cats. I was then told they would need to do a blood draw test to be sure. The blood draw was very traumatic for my young daughter. The results showed she was severely allergic to dogs, cats, and mice. If the skin test had been administered correctly, at least one of these would have shown a skin reaction. I was then charged $1000 for each test! They wouldn't remove the skin test charges.

Office staff incompetent with appointment scheduling, rude and unhelpful. Appointments need to be scheduled months in advance, and even then, you must wait up to 45 minutes to see the doctor at your appointment time assuming the office staff actually scheduled your appointment. Overall experience with this office is horrible.

You must schedule appointments for shots and you still have to wait generally 30-40 min before the injection is given. Additionally, there is no grace period and this is not explained. We got injections on Tuesdays and one week came on a Thursday. Office staff didn't inform us that this was too late.They ended up backing up his treatment, costing us an additional $145 and extra shots.We were told that staff don't know the policy.Also, very expensive. Other allergist charge $65, they charge $145
