Dr. Ekta Gupta, MD

On my first and only visit with this physician, she did NOT ask any appropriate and necessary fact-finding questions that could have assisted with determining the diagnosis. Although she provided some interesting information, she did NOT provide even the most basic explanations about it. She did not answer ANY questions, instead she provided me with some paperwork and told me to research it on my own at home. Then her "practice" emailed what they described as a "Welcome Letter". It was far from welcoming and did not reflect sincere concern for patient care. It primarily described what the patient should NOT expect from her practice. For the most part, every interaction would require you to have an appointment, which could be months later.

Good for colonoscopy and screening. Not the best for personal interaction and help. On the one hand I felt good about the flex sigmoidoscopy experience. On the other had all it confirmed was that I had an an-l fissure which I would have hoped someone would have done a simple digital exam and knew how to treat it. I received little guidance or treatment expectation from her and her team. They ended up being really rude and dismissive when I tried to get help when the condition wasn’t healing.

I visited this doctor several times for an ongoing issue. I had seen other doctors previously for the same issue - no diagnosis. Ekta Gupta was extremely rude and non-communicative. Very contradictory. I sensed she was covering for a lack of knowledge of the issues and questions presented to her. On several occasions she said that she can only address issues that she herself can observe, which means that my complaints as a patient apparently don't exist.

My colonoscopy was handled very well. I was taken into the prep area ahead of schedule and the entire staff was friendly, competent and professional. Dr. Gupta spent an appropriate amount of time with me, explaining what was going to happen during the procedure and in follow-up. No complaints at all.

Went to 'medical school' in India. Do you really trust that? Also has a cold demeanor : lazy in my opinion.

Dr Gupta is very professional and helped me get the care I had been struggling with my whole life. Me and my family will thank her for life. Highly recommend her kind care and great bedside manners.

Waited 3 months to see her after being referred by another Dr. at Hopkins. What other people state above is exactly my experience. Dismissive, condescending and didn't seem interested in what I wanted to tell her. Just wanted to send me for tests I already had done at University of Maryland and Georgetown within the last year. Horrible experience.

I was referred to her by my doctor for gastro issues. I am 70 and never had a colonoscopy - always refused. Dr. Gupta has an awesome "bedside" manner and made me feel absolutely comfortable with the procedure - which went by with a hitch....

We found her and her immediate staff to be terrible. For a week we tired to contact her while under her care and having a health issue and no one returned our phone calls. We were met with rudeness and they retaliated to make it look different. In summary it was a terrible experience. I would never recommend her to anyone.

I had a similar experience as the person above. After waiting three months for an appointment, I was looking forward to getting some answers. I was disappointed and will not be returning to Dr. Gupta or the practice. She did not ask me many questions or take the time to understand what may be causing my issues. The options she presented to me were likely more invasive than needed. I found her to be condescending and dismissive. It seemed clear that she didn't want to engage with me. Not worth it

After waiting 3 months for an appointment, I sadly do not feel that it was worth the wait and will not be returning. Dr. Gupta didn’t take the time to explore or explain what may be causing my symptoms, leaving me without even so much as the promise of an answer and relief. She was very dismissive and quick to tell me what illness I do not currently have, but did take the time to explain options should my illness return. Follow-up questions were not thoroughly answered. Very disappointed.
